Game Mechanics behind vehicles and vehicle spawn?

Hello everyone.

Fairly new to this, (but we all are in a way, since it`s new) played for about 2 weeks before I made an account on the forum.

In those 2 weeks I have played with about 15- 20 of my rl friends, we all have one thing in common, none of us have EVER seen a vehicle (that we could interact with). So my question is how is the Mechanics behind this? I know you can save vehicle on a server and it will stay on that server. But is it like in bf where when a vehicle is "in use" it can not spawn new ones?

If there are only a few vehicles I am sure people who spend more time ingame then in rl will just camp these and keep them to themselfs for the rest of the game, leaving us searching the entire map for nothing? I can`t belive we have just been "un-lucky". As I said 15 - 20 rl friends, playing about 2 weeks now, a few hours every day, everyone searching for vehicles (and other stuff ofc).

I just wanted to know this so I could stop searching if it`s pointless.

There is a limit on each vehicle on the map. The spawnpoints are public, look up for the DayZdb Map.

When a player takes the car, the limit is in place. When it's not used for 7 days, it respawns. When it breaks, it respawns faster (<- inaccurate Information)

Vehicles are often hidden in forests. But trust me, there is a good amount of vehicles on each server.

i think you may be right about that or something as it is a limited spawn of vehicles per server and most people just camp them at their base/tent till they get found or destroyed...i dont know the full details but thats about the basics of it :/

ya their alot of vechiles in game, but honestly i think their should be 3-6 hour respawn to vechiles, so that everyone has chance of using it, fixing them up usually doesnt take alot of effort, so far found Boat/Tractor/ATV.... but i seen also couple few people fly around choppers and trying to shoot at my flairs at night... o.o very scary when bullets hit close by.

Currently me and my friends only own 1 tractor. it only for 1 person so we use it as a portable tent/park outside of town load it up with stuff than drive back to HQs.

Been playing enough to know all about the map and the spawn points.

The first few Dayz (see what i did there, hehe) I did not use the map, to see how it was, but after finding alot of gear I wanted to progress abit and started using the map on DayZdb. But the math speaks for it self, 15-20 people playing a few hours every day for 2 weeks using maps and looking around spawn points NEVER ever seeing a single vehicle.

But I guess people who have a car already just drive around and round up the rest and just save them in a camp or something. But thanks for the answer anyway.

the DB's map is not 100% at least i dont think it is. Because it usually Around that Area, next exact location of it, from most respawns i noticed.

Also try areas that u wont see much traveled, like nothing along the major cities like Chrono/Electro/Bozino usually anything along coast most likely already fixed up and hidden.

try in middle or north of the map or run around edges of the map to the NW/N/NE/E/W most likely some were tents + vechiles.
