Muncywolverine 236 Posted August 1, 2012 Ello,I found a tent and am looking for a good place to set up camp in case i die. No, i am not an equipment whore. All i've got is my 16-slot backpack and my trusty Lee enfield/m1911. I love this setup, it makes me feel like a WW2 paratrooper. So i'm looking for somewhere safe to stash my rifle and backpack in a tent.Any ideas?
Nirvana620 33 Posted August 1, 2012 Tip: Don't take advice from the forums... HOWEVER, do not do North or West parts of the map. Too many kiddies think it's "clever" to drop a tent city all the way north near NE airfield.

LOGO (DayZ) 2 Posted August 1, 2012 Check out hiding tents on Youtube. In general my Most successful hideouts have been in fotests With a lot of other terrain such as rocks, bushes etc.. Good luck.

Zexis 127 Posted August 1, 2012 Find a low traffic area away from high level loot spawns. Dense, hilly forests are usually best. This will at least cut down on the number of people simply stumbling across your tent, and a single tent is MUCH easier to hide than an entire city or vehicle armada. Find a thick pine or bush and pitch it there. The farther north you go the more likely people will be camp hunting, so be wary.

Zexis 127 Posted August 1, 2012 I thought you needed an open area to pitch a tent ._.Not really. Tent placement is very touchy. Gentle slopes are okay, and you can pitch one right under the leaves of a tree or bush, next to the trunk/center. You only need enough open ground to plop the tent, and no more. Non-solid objects won't count against you.
