ScaryNachos 9 Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) I never feel bad about killing a player who probably deserves it, like killing players who are camping stary and other valuable loot spots but when I kill a noob who is running up the middle of the NW Airfield with 20 zombies behind him and still has a patrol pack? That's not even worthy to be put in my murder count.I'm one of these bandits that doesn't camp the coast so I can get in a firefight that is actually intense so if you are new to the game here are some tips for the Airfield & DayZ in general.- Don't run up the middle of the strip with zombies chasing you.- Have something bigger than a patrol pack.- Stay low and quiet.- Make sure you have the firepower with you to take out a few players. This latest trip my group killed, umm.. 4 players with spawning gear except for some minor weaponry, nothing really "valuable". Those few tips will help you out anywhere, also below are the bandit heavy areas you want to avoid until you can handle yourself :PChernogorsk, Electrozavodsk, Stary Sobor. NW Airfield has a lot of traffic but not much campers, usually they loot and head to there camps. You should also be weary of Zelenogorsk and Balota, they usually have one or 2 bandits but usually easily taken out. (I put the short form of the is bold if you didn't know them) Edited August 1, 2012 by ScaryNachos
LunaTiK (DayZ) 45 Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) Maybe they aren't new players at all and realize they can run to NW airfield before they starve and hope to find something good right away. Death is a chance they are willing to take maybe since they have nothing to lose. Edited August 1, 2012 by LunaTiK

Rokor Fenix 143 Posted August 1, 2012 People with nothing to lose still have a life to lose.-MONSTERYet, fresh spawn just throw their lives away it seems. Too bad most people don't take each life seriously and imagine it like real life.
LunaTiK (DayZ) 45 Posted August 1, 2012 In 15 minutes you could easily get an entire set of gear by looting a dead body at NW Airfield.

discwv 2 Posted August 1, 2012 I don't know. Some people are willing to throw away the time, and most people don't really think about how things would pan out in real life. I'm a newb, but I'm patient and careful with every fresh spawn, right from the start, and I always last at least a coupe hours before I get shot. I mean, the risk or running into the north from the getgo just isn't worth it to me. But I can see why it would be for some people. And it's hard to get people to try and treat the game as a real life experience. I try my best to think about the ramifications or my actions but it's really understandable that people wouldn't. It is a game, after all.

It's the same for me. I saw a pair of players yesterday and my heart near blew out of my chest, and I immediately started questioning whether I should shoot them or not. I would play battlefield if I wanted to just shoot people without thought. But, there are a lot of people out there that don't really need that extra emotion to get a rush. Kids that come right from COD, or something, that think all it really takes to kill a man is a pull of the trigger. Or people that just aren't in it for the emotion, and are just out to kill people. It's too bad, too, because the emotion is such a massive part of the game.
