Arganth 6 Posted August 1, 2012 How to increase player cooperation?Right now everybody in this game is potentially superman (with bullets as kryptonite)Given enough time everybody can do everything alone without the need of other players (except blood packs of course)But it is realistic or authentic? Can you repair a destroyed helicopter or a car in real life?Heal as good as a medic or hunt/cook as good as a professional? Clean/Repair all weapons (giving degrading weapons would exist in this mod)Probably not ^^Wouldn't it increase cooperation if not everybody could do everything? This could be achieved in different ways:either giving certain skills for new spawns (probably random) like car mechanic, hunter, cook, whatever....orgiving all the people the same starting stuff (like now) and introduce things such as books (rare as fuck) which teach you to repair a car, gut an animal ect.skills once learned should then (maybe) be teachable to other playersoradditional idea from another thread: limit number of tool slots to force player cooperationof course nothing stops anyone from just KOSing like a boss but if everybody you meet is someone who potentially can teach you something or do things you cannot do nowhe is more valuable than just being your next victim for his loot.If you cannot loot wisdom you have to keep him alive (at least for some time... :D)If a person can create something valuable for you (which increases with added crafting skills)then cooperation will definately become a bigger factor in this game...
RqubeD 0 Posted August 1, 2012 I think regardless of whether this is a good idea this is the kind of direction the mod needs to go in cause although DM is a cool approach, not everyone wants to do that all the time. And in a real apocalypse not everyone is going to be crazy and shoot each other.
rallph 1 Posted August 12, 2012 (edited) I am totally in support of this idea.In real life people would be working together instead of KoSing, but any skills that someone might have are thrown away in a world where equipment materializes out of thin air. :beans: for you Edited August 12, 2012 by Rallph

C4SINO (DayZ) 20 Posted August 12, 2012 I can recall Rocket saying he wants to keep out skills and perks as much as possible. His example was that you shouldn't need a perk to read the stars at night, if you can do it in real life you should be able to do it in game.Skills, training and perks is something being done in War Z and has been mentioned in this forum before, I HIGHLY DOUBT it will be implemented into Day Z.
