Zombies running to fast!

I encourage the Dev team to find a way to make the zombies less runny like. pacing yes... but they should that be blazing fast. I would actually love if the Mod could be MOOORE zombies and have no stamina for running, meaning walking all the time. maybe fast pace walking but not like an Olympic runner.

if zeds will be slower this mod will be dead boring coz atm zeds are not biggest threat - if i want to fight zeds i look for house. in houses they are slow as hell.

if zeds will be same slow in open areas i dont think i will even start to shoot at them - i will simply walk away.

Those super fast zeds are only reason what makes me think twice - kill survivor with sniper rifle or let him go :)

make zeds slow and there will be tons of crying about how bandits are bad.

only think i dont like is that those runing zeds are too smart .. they never attack u in face thay always runing behind

I think there needs to be more zombies over all, they need to be a bit slower, but more aware. As it is now a careful crawl can go right by them with in 5 ft it seems and not aggro. I also think that gun fire should bring in more Z's. I fire a gun at random at the airfield, there are 5 z's (use to be 20 pre 1.5.8) and only two look at me and one actually runs towards me...

I would make it so Z's run slower by maybe 50% but they dont give up. You might out run them for 5 minutes but with in 8-10 minutes you got all those Z's + the other z's they picked up all rushing you at once.

This would make a bandit think twice about firing a round anywhere... as it is now a bandit shoots the enfield, kills the 2-3 z's that come at him, crawls to the dead survivor, loots and moves on...

I personally think that they're great like that. It makes any attack on the zombies a really dangerous choice where things can turn really bad quickly. Some of my best memories of some DayZ characters come from those scenes where everything went to hell in a matter of seconds, and next thing you know you're running like a madman in the countryside with a horde of zeds on your tail, not knowing where your buddies went if they ever survived = priceless.

Now, if they would walk only it would ruin any sense of risk associated with the zombies, you'd know in advance that you would only need to run to get out of trouble. I really prefer it the way it is now (as long as the zeds don't glitch, but it's only alpha).

Honestly the entire system is flawed until they fix the disconnect feature - If you disconnect from the server when zombies are running for you and then load back into the game, the zombies all despawn.

Now of course not everyone does that even if they know about it, but if you're a bandit and you want to kill another player you come across in a zombie infested area, who's to say that the bandit won't just shoot you without even caring, disconnect right after you're dead to despawn all the zombies, then reconnect and loot you.

Disconnecting is something that plagues both PvE and PvP encounters, so it's not strictly zombie related.

However, I as well wish there were more zombies again. Now I can just run into a town, aggro all the zombies, run inside a shed and shoot them all with my pistol.

I hope Rocket realizes that if the zombies aren't a big enough threat (they aren't atm) player-killing and deathmatch is the only thing that offers any kind of challenge. Nor is teaming up required. A lot of zombies = you want to team up.

I'm fine with that, some people aren't. I'd still rather have more zombies, even though I much prefer PvP.

We need more zeds and faster ones, a few lightening fast ones to spice things up atm there's hardly any threats and the current zeds are easy to out run.

For me, it's not so much how fast they run (although that should be toned down some) but it's the combination of very high speed and unrealistic angular cuts. Humans (dead or alive) shouldn't be able to make 90 degree turns while running full speed.

My problem with this is, is that this will stray off the path of stealth. At the moment, you're often reliant on a small number of magazines, with zeds, and bandits to worry about, you have to choose wisely. If they were slower, then you could stand and shoot them all and continue.

Currently, the adrenaline rush comes from the stealth and knowing you probably can't take them all out at the moment, so you have to calculate your route, come up with a strategy and execute that strategy.

lol the zombies are fine. stop crying. they need to be a threat or else people will just pop people MORE OFTEN in the face in towns. if zombies are slowed down at all they will be 0 threat. the only thing that needs to be fixed is how they glitch out everywhere and make insta turns and teleports.

This. Also i would make zombies even more powerful/hard to kill (not just 1 shot to everywhere in the body), but even more rewarding i.e. you get some basic loot from them.

the speed doesnt bother me, how they act like Space Invaders on Coke does somwhat however.

But it would really be nice if they would tire after awhile. Hard to imagine a zombie that hasn't fed or washed its mouth in ages being able to run so well for an infinite amount of time. These zombie trains are silly. Or breaking line of sight and laying low would result in zombies running past you.

Hi guys, I totally agree with annoyance of zigzagy-strafing thingy. I don't think that the Zeds are like "Oh, indeed, he might use his firearms against me, so for my own safety I will zigzag all the way until I'll soak my teeth in his throat". Thats the most annoying thing atm (not counting connection problems, that's diff story), especially for players who run DayZ with 30-40 fps and 150 ping.

I also agree their speed is fine but it would be nice to see more realistic running physics. "Space invaders on coke" is a fairly apt description at this point. ;)

I believe the 1.5.8 update made it so they aggro around gunfire better than 1.5.7. Rocket seems to be working on their AI a bit so I'm sure they will continue to get tougher.

This is where most of the work on the mod needs to be done(Not HYPOTHERMIA....) making the zombies formidable is tough; Pathing, speed, socials. they are ridiculously fast because they would be easy otherwise: they make sharp cuts because they have no pathing. Honestly just by having more zombies at a slower pace... that only die with head shots would make this game great =) pathing be damned..

but temperature is cool...... anything that makes the game harder right? while you're at it... add in allergies. that way in the dusty factories and warehouses you have a chance to sneeze, attracting all the zombies on the server.

i think it would be cool to gun down hundreds of zombies with some mates... make them the main enemy of the game. if you shoot a round you get (eventually) hundreds of zeds to deal with.

This mod reminds me of minecraft... in that the updates become lolzy.

today some weird football zombie kicked me down, he kept running around and bashing me on the ground :S took me a while to finally kill him, unfortunately lost a lot of blood :(

Stop being so selfish wit them suggestions, srsly try thinking for the community and not just for your self...

Fast is fine, I wouldn't mind if they were even faster. But that zig-zagging needs to go. With proper path finding they'd be easier to shoot too, but at the same time could swarm you much faster.

Zombies are to easy as it is.... if you make them slower I dont even need to shoot them at all to collect stuff... oh and zombies irl dont run fast? Have you seen any IRL zombies lol. people that play this game just make me rofl. always get a kick out of reading stuff on here

Once again, speed is not the issue. Their path finding (or complete lack thereof) defies the laws of physics.
