Hi I'm new to the whole DayZ gaming and had played it at my friends house for a little and absolutely loved the game. Now I bought the game when I got home but unfortunately my laptop is well... shit. I just bought a new one for college and I'm hoping it should be able to play this game fairly well on high settings.

You should be able to run the game on high (about 70%) settings. Anything more on a laptop will likely overheat and destroy what il bet cost you a lot :)

At 1080p, I'd say you would do well on medium settings. The Arma 2 engine is absolute trash and is poorly optimized. For games like BF3 and MW3, if you care, you'd be able to play on High, and Max for the latter.

I play DayZ on my laptop and here are some of my specs:

So, in short, yes you'll be able to play the game perfectly fine with your set up. My laptop is able to play it on max settings with no hang up due to hardware problems. As long as your laptop is plugged in or on a high power setting it'll run very smooth. A bit of advice though, you should really invest in a nice laptop cooler if you intend to game or use high end programs for extended use.
