Tactics against Zombies in towns

Recommended Posts

So me and a friend had a nice little surprise this week. We went into a house to loot, there were some zombies that followed us in. No biggie cause I had a Enfield so I shoot said zombies (maybe about 2-3 of them, big mistake). Within about 5 mins I had empty most of my ammo with about 20 dead zombies on the ground and another 10-15 covering up the doors. We shot our way out of there but just barely. Totally unexpected and thrilling and all, but it got me thinking, if you find yourself in that same situation it seems like there isn't a good way out of it. Shooting isn't a great way to go, and hatchets while effective can be dangerous because now you're in swinging range of the zombies. Any ideas on a better way to get out of a situation like that?

OH god, at NWAF, as i was overwatching, some friends shot their primary's to kill zombies. The next thing you know they were having their own fire fight, against zombies.

Its like Left 4 dead when you hit a car alarm and the horde comes.

Yea lately I noticed that once you open up on a zombie a lot of his friends come piling on by. This happened most recently at night. I was raiding a small barn when a zombie shows up through a wall (oh well gltich). Shoot him in the head, then I heard more sounds coming from outside. All of a sudden there is a whole line of them. Toss a flare outside to distract them and when I get an opening at the door I make a break for it. Lose the rest in the dark through some bushes.

I personally would prefer just swinging my ax at them instead of opening up now. It seems that you often bite off more than you can chew.

M4A3 CCO + STANAG SD ammo. Zeds cant hear it, and even if they did, they'd drop faster than they could possibly come.

Since the weapons nerf this is happening more and more. The Enfield was one of the worst possible guns to fire off in a town. The Winchester is now just as bad. I'd stick with an m1911, but make sure it's a head shot.

if you're going to use your primary gun to fight zombies, use something with a higher rate of fire and/or quieter than the lee enfield

Yeah I was looking at the updated weapons chart and realized that was prolly the worst wep to use for that situation. It also seemed like they were respawning faster than we could kill them. I mean I don't mind a horde every now and then, keeps things interesting but an endless horde seems a little much.
