Yet another idea to encourage people to work together

Recommended Posts

This is actually a combination of a couple of ideas that have already been suggested with a few other ideas of my own:

Optional co-spawn:

When spawning, have the option of indicating how many other people you would like to spawn with. You are then held in "limbo" but with the opportunity to chat with others until there are enough people with the same spawn number selected and then you all spawn in the same place. You should be able to change this number at any time so you're not stuck waiting. The rationale behind this is so that you can decide to be a lone wolf or spawn with other people and team up. At the moment even if you have mates you want to play with, you have no control over where you spawn, and usually by the time you can meet up, someone is dead. This way you might not be able to decide where you spawn, but you can at least spawn in the same place as someone else willing to co-operate with you.

Choice of starting equipment:

Instead of everyone spawning with the same equipment, you have the choice of a piece of equipment. People have been talking about removing the backpack from the spawning equipment, which inspired this idea. It would encourage people to spawn in twos or threes, one person with a pack, another person with a couple of bandages, another person with some painkillers, someone else with a few sodas and cans of food, etc. (and NO-ONE WITH A WEAPON. EVER.)

If you think about it, spawning with other people doesn't actually stay true to a zombie apocalypse. You should have to find your friends.

This, its a good idea and all but it wouldnt make it as fun trying to find all your friends.

It doesn't stay true to a movie/story about a zombie apocolypse? Also you used the word 'spawning' in that same sentence so think about that...ALSO you say 'with other people' and then assume they are all your friends :) .

This, its a good idea and all but it wouldnt make it as fun trying to find all your friends.

So what if the group spawning was optional? You spawn within a vecinty of each other (not as a close group) - personally I dont see how this could hurt the game and would appeal to those who dont have the time to spend marching all over cherno??

Me and my friend have played long enough to learn the map, and when we spawn we basically sprint towards eachother. Since you always spawn on the coast and know exactly where you are, there is 0 challenge in finding your friend for us. Being able to spawn together would simply save us the 10-30 minutes of sprinting in one direction.

I agree with co-op spawning of some kind, but disagree with start equipment choice. You should spawn with next to nothing. No painkillers, no bag. Just a secondary melee weap (Crowbar?) and possibly a bandage.

I don't like it, it's fun when you and your pals die, and finding each other is fun. It's always that magical moment when you spot each other in the distance and run at each other singing a happy song. But seriously, spawning large groups like that would be bad.

Beeing able to carry food at spawn again, will bring back the beach warzone (even more than the few spawnkilling people)

Why not?

I mainly play with 1 friend and spend the majority of our time just trying to meet up after deaths etc.

I don't think players should necessarily be able to spawn together but should maybe have the option of selecting a rough location. Even just the choice of spawning A) South Coast B) South East Coast C) East Coast

It wouldn't give you too much of an advantage that you could choose to say always spawn outside cherno, but would allow friends to at least know they going to be within 10-15 mins of each other.

Right now if one of us dies we have to either keep committing suicide by zombie until we spawn close enough to the other character (Might as well bring back respawn option) or spend the first half hour of each session running across the map to each other. This is a real pain because we can only play a few hours a night at most cos of work and most of it is running in one direction across open terrain until we meet up somewhere.

Spose it would be very bad if well organised squads were easily able to start together. The larger teams would dominate easily.
