Why are people so backwards?

Why do people worry about alt+f4'ers and aborters and when it comes to hackers, they say "deal with it"? Are there really this many hacker supports on these forums? If you support hacking and truly claim not to do it, you should be ashamed.

We can deal with Alf-F4'ers and Aborters (tee hee) with a script or a penalty. Hackers are a whole different ball game that even Rocket doesn't have power over.

Better to fix what we fix and then work on those kind of things.

I can understand that it is easier to deal with a problem like aborting, but why so much hacker love? I think a lot don't want to lose their free AS50's they get after each death. lmao

I think it's more that, because we can't do jack shite about these hackers, why complain about them? Why pull attention to the hackers while we can clearly at least tell Alt-F4'ers they're nothing but a buncha' willy nillys.

I mean, sure, there probably -are- hacker supporters telling us we're just QQing, but in my honest opinion, they suck hard. On eggs. So let's not stoop their level and say we actually DO care.

For the same reason Rocket said if people talk about it enough and bring it up, it will actually motivate him to so something about it. Things aren't fixed for the same reason he said he didn't want/like to fix bugs, it doesn't make headlines.

I'm sure what he means is that we, as the community, should fight against hackers. Make a community database of known hacker names, IPs, all that jazz. If a hacker hits up on a server, get the Admin right away and have them ban that guy lickity split. That's achievable.

True. This does need to be done. Though their name isn't always obtainable to report to the admin. I have done some research into Batteye, and see that it isn't as good as some other anti-cheats, say Punkbuster. Perhaps that is a start. Make the switch to something more stable/thorough.

Indeed. I think this is more of a problem for Arma2 than DayZ. BattlEye has been, in my experience, crap.

Why are there suddenly so many of these posts? Can't we just keep all this hacking/scripting nonsense to one post pretty please?

I think Rocket has more control over the alt f4 than the scripters.

Neither party are healthy for this mod. Both are pretty low on the scumbag scale.

On an admin level, scripters/hackers are difficult to find given the information they have access to, and long, tedious hours have to be spent pouring over logs for even the slightest hint or scrap of evidence, and even then it's often not enough to get someone banned.

As far as I'm concerned, the more people script, hack, f4 and generally exploit, the more instances there are to create algorithms and patch up holes. The cheaters will get their just desserts.

I support neither actions, though when confronted with an obvious hacker I will ALT-F4.

Yeah, Batteye keeps hackers away from servers about as well as a wet paper towel would.

You seem to be wanting a hacker proof game, which will never happen.

Also, what about the global bans that Battleye hands out from time to time? Give them some credit at least. They're obviously trying.
