Zombie Guts / Distraction

OK, not sure if this has been mentioned before. I did a quick search and only had one hit, which was buried in a long thread.

Zombie Guts

This is random, you kill a Zombie, you loot it, if you have a knife you can remove it guts. You can wear the guts for X minutes and not aggro the zombies. But if you run, shoot or walk into a Zombie, all bets are off...

Zombie Distraction

Does road flares do this already? I've seen them in a video go nuts over a camp fire in a field.

A device you can craft, road flare + some sort of loud device, you throw it. Zombies go mega nuts, chase it, it lasts X moments. But they are mega, mega aggro'ed.

Maybe too gamey?

Well considering zeds are attracted to sound a light/movement flares should make em go batty on both accounts, and they do to an extent, more for smoke then flares though, which should be reversed. but ya know

I don't see the point of zombie guts, as it is if you run, shoot or walk into a zombie you attract them. Crawling, crouching, walking reduces your detection (crawling for obvious least detection).

Road flares do draw them, they sort of just walk towards and around it. Not a big priority to them, they just slowly hover around the area. If you want an actual distraction get smoke grenades, they sprint to that shit like it's sale at Walmart. Which also nulls your flare + sound device idea since that's what smoke grenade does, it draws them like a Left4Dead pipe bomb, minus the explosion.

The issue with zombie guts being used like that is that it may just straight up not fit with the unannounced backstory. It really depends on the type of zombie that is being used. For Example: rocket zombies aren't dead.

Recent changes have been made to make zombies aware of flares. Doesn't do much. Get a whiskey bottle or a smoke grenade.

I didn't like/believe the episode in The Walking Dead where they covered themselves in zombie guts to prevent detection. I thought it was silly. So I disagree. However, your suggestion is valid.

Zoobies shouldn´t even have the good sight they do. After all they have lost intelligence so how can they distinguish a person walking slowly 50 meters alway from another ZED? For the sake of realism, shouldn´t make difference wearing gut or not, vision sight should be nerfed. Only a running or standing person quite close (less than 30 meters) should attract zeds.
