fearz0r 128 Posted July 30, 2012 (edited) I know this is alpha. I know this is a "known" issue. I know there are ways to prevent this. That said, I still find it frustrating having a primary rifle with 5 mags, and only 12 slots in my bag, and no way of placing things on the floor or discarding others, and so putting my rifle in my bag puts all my ammo in there too.. and if there's not enough space, my bag eats my extra mags.. .Why does it have to fill my bag with my ammo anyway? Why can't I simply control my inventory. We're not dealing with hundreds of items here, we're talking about 30 items or so..Please Rocket, just remove the code that auto moves ammo. Irenicus (DayZ) 289 Posted July 30, 2012 LOL. (@ Sticker's comment)Rocket hates the inventory system if I'm not mistaken (known to happen). I remember hearing him in an interview saying he wants to revamp/redesign the entire inventory system....just a case of time...give it time....
Xaiier 27 Posted July 30, 2012 Never had trouble with this. Are you talking about when you have two guns and are switching between them or if you have just one?
Grimlok (DayZ) 134 Posted July 30, 2012 So many impatient crybabys lately.
Bubba Jones 30 Posted July 30, 2012 It can also delete ammo when you put a weapon in another person's backpack.

Never had trouble with this. Are you talking about when you have two guns and are switching between them or if you have just one?nay, I'm just trying to put my gun in my bag only, but currently it 'forces' all my ammo in there too, even if there's not enough room. If there isn't, it'll eat the extra. So many impatient crybabys lately. Not impatient buddy. I'm able to voice my opinion within this "open forum". I didn't eff and blind, I said I was frustrated, and then listed why.(and it's spelled "crybabies".. it's plural)
jordan2412 60 Posted July 30, 2012 yep, it does suck. Also, I have a few friends that are newer players, and they always try to store a gun in their "noob" pack. Since its not big enough, the gun disappears, and then I have to listen to them get all wtf'ey for the next ten minutes...

treshold82 28 Posted July 30, 2012 Actually gun never disappears when it is being put on backpack with less than 10 free slots - it teleports randomly on the ground and it can be like 30m away from the point you sizzled with your backpack. That's why it feels like it disappears since it's so freaking hard to find from the ground since it can be anywhere nearby :/
Irenicus (DayZ) 289 Posted July 30, 2012 I just lost my entire backpack (alice at the time) when I put on some camo clothing I just found. It kept some items but I was back with a coyote patrol pack.....didn't realise till about 5 minutes later, went back to the heli where i found the camo, but no luck. Looks like my backpack got eaten when I changed clothes. :(
NotYou 13 Posted July 30, 2012 Had this happen with an M24... and I made sure I had 12 slots open in my bag for my 2 clips of ammo... still ate teh ammo and I had two empty slots left in teh bag... I HATE the inventory bugs. Worst inventory system in any game I;ve ever played. And I played Coleco and Atari and had a Commodor 64 as a kid.

Hetstaine 10852 Posted July 30, 2012 Do it the painful way , put your gun you want to put in your backpack onto the ground, then pick up only the ammo..walk away from the gun and drop the ammo, go back and put only the gun in your backpack, then go over and pick up the ammo mag by mag. Slow, painful, but it does the job and you dont lose your ammo.

Slow, painful, but it does the job and you dont lose your ammo.Yes It would seem this is the best way, and if you want to keep your backpack, as mine completely got eaten (went from alice to a coyote patrol pack) it's worth taking the time to drop your entire backpack, put on clothing then pick your pack up again
