a_casual_banana 38 Posted July 30, 2012 Today, I was playing DayZ, and I found a cow. Killed and gutted, right? Now, it tells me that 8 meat are on the carcass, so when I was done gutting, I tried to loot it. Couldn't. Spent a few minutes trying, then the carcass just fell into the group like I hid it. Okay.jpg.A few minutes later, I happen upon a sheep. Killed and gutted. Same thing. Is this a bug, or was I just unlucky enough to find a glitch that only happens every now and then? Incompatibility 4 Posted July 30, 2012 You need main inventory space. Not backpack space.
twinsenstwinsens@gmail.com 15 Posted July 30, 2012 I've had the same thing a couple of times on the servers I use. I gutted pigs and goats with plenty of free inventory space/backpack space and nothing. no carc to loot and no steaks in my inventory.I'll try again if i can find the correct gear and see if I have any luck,
Yomas 0 Posted July 30, 2012 You just need to wait a bit for the meat to appear. Sometimes it takes a while.
mrducky (DayZ) 33 Posted July 30, 2012 (edited) It's a bug. (Been happening since 1.7.2.3 or something)- Sometimes you get the meat instantly from the carcass after gutting (as it should happen)- Sometimes it takes a while. Like a minute or so.- Sometimes it seems to have depended on the weapon I've been equipping - sidearm vs rifle (but frankly, I think this has just been about the timing of the bug just happening to match my weapon change)- And sometimes the animal drops away before you get anything out of it.It's a meat roulette. You never know if you're gonna win or not. :) Edited July 30, 2012 by mrducky
