Will Trade for Tent

I am looking to make a trade for a tent. Make a trade offer or if you are a generous fellow I would love a donation.

Items I have to possibly trade:

AKM + 5 mags

Winchester 1866

Fueltank parts

Painkillers

Canned drinks

Canned food

Buniculars

Alice Pack

Server restarts will remove the contents of your tent(s) permanently, not making it an ideal method of storage as of right now. None of the items listed are of interest to me, but I've got a couple in my vehicle if you acquire any better items; vehicles have a storage capacity as large or even bigger than tents, and the contents stored inside of those are not deleted upon server restarts. :P

thats not true...we did a server restart today and our stuff was still in our tents.

there are many different variables that go into this, many of which are not even understood

Do tell, I am interested. I haven't had the same luck with tents. What are some of these variables?

It wasn't server restarts eating the gear in the tents, it was a corrupted database. It should be fixed now (I've yet to confirm).

The contents of my tent were deleted earlier this morning, after a server restart had taken place. The vehicle and its contents were still intact at my secured camp.

Well this thread has effectively changed my mind about wanting a tent

You need to mouse over the tent and click "save old camping tent" to effectively save your gear, even through restarts.

try this,,,,,, place your tent but not on a slope or hill or in a tree, this will cause your tent to possibly lose items or all items

save tent after you place it without any items in it

do not put items in it until after a server restart

always save your tent every time you interact with it

if you pitch a tent and unpitch it, after a restart that tent will reappear but will not hold items after a restart

this method of placing, saving and waiting for restart before using has been working for us after many failed previous tents

To tent or not to tent that is the question.

The answer is to tent.

Most people don't have vehicles so the vehicle storage option is not useful. Also, unless you are parking your vehicle way off map then someone will likely stumble onto it and drive off with all your gear.

Sometimes tents don't work. Not always sure of the variables as to why. For instance I set up a tent last night and put some items in it and saved it and today the tent is there but the items are gone. Could have been someone stole them. Could have been the server lost them. Could have been I was de-synced at the time and the items weren't saved.

So what is the answer?

If you put stuff in a tent there is a chance you will lose it.

If you don't put stuff in a tent then you will either never pick it up in the first place or eventually someone will shoot you and you will lose it.

Tents are a chance to lose.

No tents are guaranteed to lose.

Vehicles can be blown up, stolen, pilfered, run into trees, moved to an unknown location, etc. etc.

If I were you I'd go with the tent. Find a nice out of the way place to put it and store a few things you might need later after you die.

All this said, there is no way I would trade for a freakin' tent. They aren't too rare and can be found in many civilian and residential buildings. The items you offer are also common and not worth risking your neck for.

If I'm going to trade with someone it's going to be for something big to make it worth bringing my crew along with me for back up. You go into a trade for a stupid tent you are just begging to get murdered.
