speca 193 Posted July 30, 2012 You can be a good bandit with any gun, yesterday i was running 'round Electro, i had my mate over watching with an L85 Thermal, he was spotting out players, i would get them, at the end i racked up around 17 kills before calling it a night, i did this with an Enfield (The best damn gun) I also got some kills with the crossbow (Yet again, amazing), i hate using advanced weapons i like the core weapons. (Woot woot 100th post) Currently my friends and i have crossbows and ghillie suits, we run after players shooting at them with it and yelling at them with wookie sounds..

Bandits who camp the coast give us a bad name.

Alfwich (DayZ) 14 Posted July 30, 2012 (edited) 1 Lee Enfield, 5 mags, 1 bandage, 1 morphine shot, 2 sodas, and as many beans as you can steal. All you need to be a good bandit; the rest is your playstyle. Edited July 30, 2012 by Alfwich

For me the priority is like this:1. primary - lee enfield is one of the most common 2.a revolver 3. 3-4 bandages 4.morphine! - blood bag! 4. hatchet!-water bottle!-hunting knife!-box of matches!-binoculars!-map-compass! 5. ALICE pack! and im good to go, maybe also grab a tent if i wanna go solo and start summing up meat-drinks etc. the ! items are very essential for survival. getoffmyporch69@hotmail.com 2 Posted July 30, 2012 All you need is a "Hatchet" and "Pure Rage" and you will be a successful Bandit or Lumberjack.

thievery 7 Posted July 30, 2012 (edited) Just be creative with what you've got. If you're looking for better equipment a little luck always helps too. Nothing quite as pleasing as stumbling upon a well stocked tent. With the akm you'll want to get in close to take advantage of full auto if the other guy has a sniper rifle, otherwise just make sure you're using semi auto, get the drop and put em down before they know what's going on. The smoke grenade can get you out of some hairy situations. I can think of one in starry where I died and probably would have not only survived, but killed my attacker if I hadn't dropped my smoke grenade. Also don't know why you left a note saying you'll get more bandages. With the exception of your tools you'll be wanting to get more of just about everything on your list. I also can't overstate the importance of cooked meat. For that you'll need a dead animal, a hunting knife, some matches, and some wood. Pretty obvious how to find a dead animal (hint: you kill one) and wood piles can be found in loot or taken from trees if you have a hatchet in your tool belt.Edit: Totally forgot about medical supplies, the most important of which is morphine. Painkillers have their use. Morphine is extremely handy. If you're playing alone however you can ignore blood bags and epi pens. Never had to use antibiotics but I keep some handy just in case. himmu03212 31 Posted July 30, 2012 Hunting people who can't fight back isn't fun. Bandits who camp the coast give us a bad name.Youre right, a bandit whos camping around the coast isnt a bandit. Hes a noob killing kiddo. Whats wrong with you people? Mess up with some good guys with good stuff. Not some noobs, spawned with torchlights and maybe an makarov with 2 mags in their hand. Most bandits are scared of NW airfield, because the survivors their dont just own makarovs. There youre going much more faster without skill. On coastline everyone can survive very long, you just need an automatic rifle and a good position to camp. And 50% of that guys who come around are noobs. Some of them cant even read maps correctly. They dont even know where they are and you going to kill them as a bandit? A bandit isnt a guy who steals the lollypop from an 1 years old boy.
Armas 9 Posted July 30, 2012 I'm repeating a bit here, nut anyway...Get:hatchet, hunting knife, matches.* so that you can get food without having to go to towns. also carry meat in excess and drop it if you need to loot something, because you get 800 blood out of a single piece of meat and sometimes a firefight can leave you in a bad situation unless you are able to stack your blood back up.More morphine, bandages and painkillers.*I tend to carry 3 morph, 4 bandages and 3 painkillers, but it's up to your personal preference.Water bottles* Get 2-4 depending on your usual routines when running around Chernarus (= how often you run to water locations). Fill the bottles at safe ponds if possible, again enabling you to avoid towns completely.Although I wrote about avoiding towns, it's more about not having to make zombies spawn. You can still hunt for players around towns, but you get an advantage when they don't see you coming. The easiest way to spot players is by the zombies their presence spawns in.I don't really see the need for a smoke if solo.. regular grenades are ok for those rare oh shit -moments.
