Night too dark ?

Recommended Posts

I agree with Mastiff, it's not that players want it to be daylight at night time, they simply want the same form of realism that the rest of the game offers. This game is barely at the beginning of it's life so we have forgiven the little things, like dead soldiers/barbed wire glitch and that you can't use everyday items as weapons and a whole list of other tiny things that bug us but don't really deter us from enjoying this amazing game.

What does annoy me however is that the night wasn't this dark less than a week ago. It was still harder to see than daytime and harder to navigate but still enjoyable because you could get things done without having to crawl around everywhere because the moment you stood up zombies were on you before you could yell "Damn it, I meant Z not C!". I would just like to see it changed to what it was before because honestly, it was realistic.

Lol it wasn't this dark a week ago because the moon was much brighter and fuller. The game has moon cycles just like in real life. In fact it's so close to reality I can look outside when I see full moon in game and sure enough it is full moon outside too :)

Nothing has changed, there are still dark, darker, pitch black, bright, brighter and holyfuckingcow I need ray bans bright servers :) If it's too dark now and you're patient wait for the full moon again :)

That's the realism of Arma 2. If you go out on a field (IRL) where you only see some lights far away, the ground and your surrounding is pitch black. It's all realism. If it's a clear sky with a moon that's shining over you, the moon will reflect the sun and voila! the night will be brighter. But as this is a "Scary" mod, the weather will be bad most of the time. Hence the black night

I have to add that you can't configure the brightness on the server. It's the weather that controls it

ArmA has a real working lunar calendar, so the date determines when the moon rises and sets, if it's new or full.

The weather determines the strength of the moonlight and moon lit clouds also provides a nice contrast.

BI added a server command to enforce moonlight and the strength of it.

I find it amusing that BI provided such a large and complex world and people attempts everything to make it less complex.

previously mentioned, but ty anyways :). I'm like 90% sure its just the weather. I've seen servers go from moonlit to overcast and it gets really dark from that.
