To prevent server hopping

Suggestion for preventing server hopping, but not stopping ability to change server.

Now I don't know if this suggestion is plausible solution (coding) but here is something you could think about.

Make player "tagged" after joining a server, for example 15min time period.

During this tagged period player could only join the same server he just did what caused "tagged" state (or for example not to join any servers if it's difficult to tag to certain server).

Players could still leave and join another servers, but not to do it on abusing way.

So if you join and there's a hacker in there, you're stuck only joining a hacked server the entire time..? sweeeeeeeeet!!

Not a bad idea, but so far unplayably laggy or overcrowded servers has been way more of a problem than hackers or hopping/farmers/etc so it takes me a while to find one that works.

Have you attempted to server hop?

At the moment there is a bug with a lot of servers causing players 2-3fps upon joining.

Also due to the long load times while joining a server it almost takes 10-15 minutes to join a new server.

It's almost impossible to server hop already (IMO).

no, just a little cooldown perioid, the hackers should not be a valid reason to prevent solutions to "other" issues

did you regard this for a moment, like combat logging would be affected aswell (meaning that ppl logoff, spawn on other server, move behind your defenses and log back in)

the hackers certainly are a big issue, but still not the only issue here

yeah, I know, loading sometimes take long times, but think about it, some of the trafic is actually caused by ppl joining and leaving all the time. Hoppers do cause extra trafic which will affect on other people too. I'm not saying that these long loadtimea caused by the hoppers but they are definately affecting it.

Just like ppl doing suicides many times in row to get better spawn and caused huge workload on the servers, the ppl jumping around are causing extra and unwanted trafic

I "server hop" because I try to find a server that's currently in the daytime cycle. DayZ Commander attempts to tell you the time on the server but more often than not it is wrong.
