Magnnarot 8 Posted July 29, 2012 When I get high grade loot ( m16a2 m203, m107, bizon and others) I start logging in a lot less often, waiting for friends to login and never again playing solo.I am starting to think that my fear of losing stuff is ruining my own fun on later "levels", bear in mind that I am used to deaths, but working my way up so long just to get shot by a lucky passerby with an winchester takes the toll on me sometimes.Am I the only one that feels like that when playing this game?
Prion 61 Posted July 29, 2012 i always feel more comfortable playing with friends. i have this bad habit of stashing good weapons at camp and going out with shit.
mythTECH (DayZ) 80 Posted July 29, 2012 I love playing with high gear loot, as I look forward to starting fresh. So I just go player killing.
Gysisco 0 Posted July 29, 2012 Nah man, I know that feel. This one time, I had a Winchester, and AKM, and a revolver all on my person, and I didn't want to risk running around and losing all my stuff. So then I waited a few days for my friend buy ARMA 2 so we could play together, but he hasn't yet to this day. I ended up growing tired of waiting, going to Cherno, only to end up getting shot up by some bandits. Moral of the story: There's no point in grabbing good loot and not playing for a long period of time if the entire point of playing IS to grab good loot and survive the wasteland. Oh, and bandits are jerks.
GrantJohnson 2 Posted July 29, 2012 (edited) I do the same. It makes me feel better knowing that my friends can pick up my good gear if someone kills me from a distance. I dont want to lose my precious babies :( Edited July 29, 2012 by GrantJohnson

Once I have high tier gear, I also wait for my friends to join the party. But it's not like I'm too afraid of playing alone, I just feel that I would be missing things out If I don't team up. Gearing up is actually one of these things in dayZ which you can do by yourself but most of the awesome stuff happens if you play with other people. The whole game content is provided by players, we make these awesome stories happen and it's far more enjoyable for me if I make these experiences with friends. Kerbo 198 Posted July 29, 2012 (edited) I used to be afraid of losing good gear but then I realized how easy it is to find. Now I just play and enjoy the experience. Yesterday i died and lost the biggest backpack, all the gear except GPS and a really nice M4 holo. The sad part is I died helping a noob get away from 20-30 zombies (pro tip, don't stand and shoot it out with a horde of zombies with a Lee Enfield). He shot me so I was low on blood and then I got killed like a moron by 1 lone zombie while stalking a goat. But I digress, the point is within an hour I had all the survival gear again except a rangefinder and map and was having a blast again. dougan25 34 Posted July 30, 2012 some of my friends don't even play when they have good stuff. others just put it in tents and play without it. i truly don't understand it. it's not hard to get gear in this game, and what's the point of collecting good items if you're not going to use them. there's a huge difference between saying "i have NVGs" and "i use NVGs."
