Arma II is a Military Simulation that came out a few years back, to get both of these games, one of which is a full expansion. It costs about 30$.

The Mod is free.

You need to own ARMA II and ARMA II Operation Arrowhead. Go on bohemia interactive, steam, amazon, or whatever online distributer of games you prefer, buy ARMA II combined operations (it includes both arma II and OA). Download and install it then follow the instructions here

no you have to PAY REAL MONEY for arma2/expansion, then you can download the dayz mod which is free. so your looking to pay about $35 on steam AND THERE IS NO FREE VERSION!

it goes on sale at amazon occasionally for 19.99.

was on sale in the steam sale a week or so ago for 17.99 (ARMA II:CO)

i think there are plans for a standalone release in the near future, but it probably won't be free.

After that you can download DayZ here, at www.dayzmod.com, or you can download softwares like Six-Updater (http://www.six-updater.net/) that will help you installing everything you need and will also help you to keep track on your favorite servers.
