bionoman 17 Posted April 30, 2012 "You know what, They should make the Killers Shown on the map. IF someone Kills 5 People, they appear on the map as Murderers - That Will eventually Stop the Killing" - yes, that will add a risk factor to all those a holes that think screwing people over is fun. They get Marked on map as red dots.Share your ideas.
Viri (DayZ) 1 Posted April 30, 2012 That wouldn't reduce PvPing, it would just increase and encourage it.It's also penalizing player-killers, which Rocket himself said he would never do anyway.
Panzerfaust (DayZ) 5 Posted April 30, 2012 Not gonna happen. THERE ARE NOT EVER GOING TO BE ANY ARTIFICIAL RESTRICTIONS ON PVP. PUT THE PIPE DOWN AND LEARN TO DEAL WITH IT, PLEASE.Next...
bacon55 (DayZ) 2 Posted April 30, 2012 They've already made it very clear there are going to be more consequences to certain types of play. The entire structure is artificial so anything is going to "artificial".FFS this is not a social simulator. It's exactly what it is in that respect, a digital communications link. The ONLY way the Arma engine is a simulator (and even then, kinda so-so), is military hardware. That's it.That's where the "simulation" ends. Beyond that you're playing a game, with all the same trappings of any other game ever made. How the devs deal with social aspects that are utterly devoid of a connection to reality will be what makes or breaks this mod. It's killed games before when they make them too carebear or too friendly to griefers. "It's a survival simulation" is absolutely spectacularly braindead and anyone who brings that up should be ashamed. It does absolutely nothing to simulate reality in a crisis, because there is no functional fear of death or psychological/physical trauma.End of story. griffinz 2816 Posted April 30, 2012 I think once direct comms is fully functional, PvPing will be reduced.
scramb13r 0 Posted April 30, 2012 The best way to reduce PvP is to run down a main road at night, with a lit flare in your hands.Seriously, I think we can all agree this would rapidly reduce pvp, OP I suggest you try it first...given than a PvP reduction was your idea in the first place. Oh and make sure you're screaming on direct and firing your gun while you do it.
tajin 17 Posted April 30, 2012 The best way to reduce PvP is to run down a main road at night' date=' with a lit flare in your hands.[/quote']Wonderful plan. On the long run, that might actually work. :)Marking PKs on the map is nonsense.1. Not everyone has a map.2. I'll only make those PKs hide/camp somewhere, knowing that more prey is coming their way.
