Seriously. If people aren't going to put effort into finding a vehicle, then stop crying. We put the exact same amount of work into our vehicles that you would've. Just because we got lucky and got to them before you, doesn't mean you get any right to bitch and whine because you can't find our obviously-massive camp, if we're storing dozens of vehicles. If you want to bitch at us, come say it to our face, at our camps.

Agree with OP, You can't really search for vehicles in this game, the vehicle searches you. I'm not gonna run outside the skirts of the map cause some retard (yes a retard) took it there, seriously not gonna waste 2-3 hours walking at a random direction like a twat.

I've given up on finding them, I've set my mind to when I find one I'II find one cuz when someone find it they drive it off the the corner of the map and I find it just annoying, especially when it is so rare. I wish you could repair the vehicles on the road with the proper tools and parts. Would be much more fun to make your own car. Better parts -> better performance.

And to do them you will need a blueprint, a place/factory to make them, parts and other stuff.

But I'II stick to the thread. I wish vehicles didnt spawn, but rather made and aquired. Having cars spawn everywhere more often wouldnt make the game better, would just be more vehicle hoarding.

I've found some cars hidden close to towns or in big forests in the center wich I find funny and refreshing but borderline parking em on the map.. I hope your PC malfunctions and ur to poor to get a new one.

Most vehicles aren't hidden that far out of the way. But you won't find any if you're one of those morons who runs on ROADS completely visible to everyone.

RE: your idea though I do think it'd be cool to have a crafting system for in-game items as well. Not just as an end in itself, but also to (if made correctly) create more incentives for trade and socialization (assuming base building allows relatively safe havens for strangers to interact). Say I train a skill to make gunpowder, you train a skill to make bullets, and some other guy makes meds. Well you might make gunpowder and trade with the bulletsmith who pays you with meds (who he gets from the doc for finished ammo). Sure some players may try to train ALL skills, but life is short in Chernarus, and death starts you back at zero.

Indeed, life is to short to make those things go along, would be damn nice tho. To bad you find everything so easy atm, resources are so common to get.

No my point was since death would reset your skills, you would rather just train one skill and make a lot of that product. Then trade around for all the other stuff you need.

I might start sever hopping on spawn locations, it's a thing I really dislike, but I also think it's unfair that only a few people hoarde all their vehicles in one place, which may even be off map, effectively preventing me from enjoying the full content of dayz.

Try to raid some camps on the northern/northeastern part of the map, where people hide they vehicles...

Went there yesterday with mates on a german server...found tent city and a car park...:)

Try to do it on a busy server(more people playing-bigger cahnce to find their camps), but be avare those guys with top tier stuff usually guard their camps.

Forget the spawns. They are for the lucky. We normal people have better luck going through the woods. Around the airfield and the western part of the map seems to be favorized by hoarding.. But do realise that even if you do get a vehicle there is a good chance some sniper is gonna pick you down the next hour due to the sound.

I enjoy hunting for vehicles on server at night time. I don't bother with going to spawn points, I go to green mountain and black lake or what it is called, that is about it.

Otherwise I just wait in areas where vehicles go for vehicle parts shoot the driver and any other players that is in the vehicle, take it and drive away. and make sure I do as little damage to the vehicle as possible^^
