It's like playing a slide show with me with about 2-3 sec's mouse + keyboard lag and at best 10 FPS in the wilderness, never been able to go near a town, moving is dahm near impossible.

CPU: Pentium Dual-Core CPU E6700 @ 3.20GHz each.

RAM: 3GB.

Graphics card: Intell® G41 Express Chipset.

Motherboard: Packard Bell imedia S1850

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I'm going to replace the graphics card with a AMD Radeon HD6770, do you think that will raise the frame rate to playable levels? (Even if the ingame settings were on low / very low.)

One of the top comments on this video on youtube seems to give some sort of advice for 32-bit systems, but I have NO idea what they are talking about haha.

(If you can't see the comment due to vi'd being directed to this site, just go on youtube and type in: DayZ - Better Optimization (Increase your FPS) and click the top option.)

I have the same problem, but it just appeared like a week ago. All of the sudden *poof* 15-20 fps max. I can look at the sky and get up to 40, but that seems like an ineffecient way to play...

I was having an FPS issue today after not having played it for a week. I had changed my settings in my GFX catalyst control centre to override application settings due to issues i was having with skyrim however i defaulted this and it kept happening. I reinstalled dayzcommander and deleted @dayzmod folder from steamapps>ARMA II Operation Arrowhead and then redownloaded it via dayzcommander. It happened again however once I changed it to run through steam and replace exe its been fine, to confirm, I went back to how it was with the steam settings and it went back to bad FPS, so now im playing with it via steam.

Hey fairly new player here. I just read the first page of this thread and am already suffering from TL;DR. (Sorry I'm lazy). Now I realize that I do not have a gaming laptop but it really bugs me that the few games I do have I can run at normal with no problem. When I bough ArmA 2 CO the other day I tested vanilla and OA and was able to run them on mostly normal settings with no problem. Now on DayZ I'm getting a slideshow. A friend of mine wanted me to get DayZ so he'd have a buddy to watch his back, but it's kind of hard to do that when everything is jumping around like crazy. This particular friend has a gaming laptop that he built and he said that he's having trouble keeping a steady framerate. IDK how to check all the technical stuff about my system specs but like I said I can run most games that are 2-3 years old on normal, sometimes a bit higher but not much. Just my 2 cents.

Have you tried the gpu_maxframesahead=1 and GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1 fix in the Arma2OA.cfg file?

I did try the ArmA2OA.cfg thing and it helped a little but it's still not much of a jump. At least now I can turn a bit more smoothly. Again I realize that I don't have a gaming rig so I can never to expect a smooth framerate but when my buddy, who actually has a gaming rig, is barely getting 25 in the forest and country and >15 in the cities, there's something wrong.

Hi! I'm fairly new here.

I was also reading this thread about the FPS Issues and i wanted to reply.

I have a Laptop and a normal PC.

Day-Z Is simply unplayable on my PC.

It has:

- Core 2 Quad Q9300 2,5GHz

- 3GB DDR2 Ram

- Geforce 9600 GT 512 MB Ram

- 1 TB 7200 Rpm Harddrive

In the wilderness i mostly get 15-20 FPS.

In Cities mostly 8 to 12 FPS. It just doesn't make fun anymore.

I can't react properly to the given situations in the Game. (I become killed all the time by people and i can't do anything about it. No defending is possible.)

Arma 2 OA and Arma 2 are running on a solid 30 FPS Ramerate on FullHD and Medium Settings.

Day Z however, runs crappy. It doesn't matter if i play on a 800*600 Pixel Resolution or Full-HD. The Framerate is still the same.

I already tried to increase the performance in the config files of Day-Z. All Settings are on minimum and i tried some tricks to improve performance. It mostly doesn't work at all. (Maybe a increase of 5 FPS or less...)

I noticed that the Performacne increases a lot if i join a server with a few people (1-4), but Servers with more than 15 People aren't playable for me.

(I also tried to put me settings on medium and high, because i heard that the graphical calculation is being done by the CPU if the graphic-settings are below medium. It also doesn't work for me at all...)

/Edit:

Ok, i will put this in an own thread...

Very laggy mod. I tried it out. Bought Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead wanting to play DayZ. Found out the hard why how bad ArmA 2 is optimized. Seems like no matter what my settings are in DayZ, my FPS will always be the same

gtx 670

8 GB ram

win 7

I've tried EVERY setting from very high, to low and it makes negligable FPS difference. I'm talking a few. That's it. I normally start off upper 50s to low 60s, but after a few minutes, it starts decreasing until I'm hitting 15-20.

Dayz And Wasteland is unplayable for me...

I get 22 FPS in towns and 34 outside towns...

Here are some details:

I noticed that only 25% to 45% of my video memory is used in-game.

But if i get the scenery @ the main menu i use 80% to 100% video memory!!

I get 60+ FPS in the main menu with the scenery!

It must be a game error!

Help is wanted!
