leblackdragon 5 Posted May 23, 2012 Since body temperature is now critical vital stat, and since Rocket will be introducing new skins/clothes, it would sound appealing that different clothes would have other merits other than aesthetics. For instance, a skin that features a jacket would help reduce heat loss by so and so percentage. Another piece of garment would insulate you from the rain and keep you dry... and so on. iashford 73 Posted May 23, 2012 I think it'd become pretty messy if different body shapes/types of characters start getting added. Maybe scarfs, and gloves?

scoffield77@gmail.com 192 Posted May 23, 2012 I think doing that would take a good amount of work. I've played a lot of mods and never seen any clothes, only entire unit skins...Maybe if they added a skin that you could switch out, that add more clothes and could battle the weather more.. but could slow you down at the sometime. it could also take a min to switch skins since you are "changing clothes" so you can't just get seen by a zombie, switch, run away, switch back. adds some risk-reward to the mater.honestley i think this is a good idea :) at 1st i didn't but when i started to polish it out in my head it turned around on me lol

Not individual clothing items. God forbid if Rocket implemented clothes for body parts half the server would be running around in their undies! lol

ejohnston95@gmail.com 1 Posted May 23, 2012 It's a great idea, but ArmA 2 would require a full reskin and the coding may be problematic. I'm not positive, but I believe I read something about gear customization for ArmA 3 so if Day Z is ported over to that, or put out as an expansion for ArmA 3 it may be possible to simply put on a jacket, coat, or sweater and gain the benefits. leblackdragon 5 Posted May 24, 2012 Why is coding problematic? How did they get those skins into DayZ then? (survivors, bandits, Z's). If it really is an issue, just change the color texture. Problem solved!
Kuro1n 1 Posted May 24, 2012 I think I read somewhere that he's already working on the skins so adding effect to them is probably not hard.

I too read they will be adding skins for you to wear as random loot. So I thought it would be really nice to give these skins more value by making them real world objects that affect your player in more way than one instead of just being pretty things to wear. Zircon 1 Posted May 25, 2012 The idea sounds good... though please don't turn DayZ into a hat simulator...

dead3ye 21 Posted May 26, 2012 +1 for adding various benefits to skins. Would add more depth to an already incredibly deep game.
