What killed me?

Lo all

I was at Devils castle yesterday after updating to the new patch and I saw my first flying heli!

So I shot at it :) and so did someone else.

The pilot tried to evade but crashed at the castle.

Now I attempted to investigate the crash site but when I got to about 20m away, checking the tower and surrounding area all the time, I died :(

Just died, nothing else, no shots heard, no hits first, just "you have died". Bummer

I assumed it was probably a headshot, you never hear the shot that kills you after all, but after running back over the next couple of hours and the same thing happeneing again I started to wonder if there is a feature/bug that stops you getting too close? Heat? Fire?

Or was there just a very well hidden sniper popping headshots? It was about 2 hours between my first and second deaths, seems a long time to just be sitting in a tower or tree on the off chance someone will come along......

I think there needs to be a feature that tells you how you died, more than once I have no clue as to what killed me and it makes it all the more annoying after so many hours spent.

You got hit by a sniper, you don't really need to hear the shot; sometimes you'll just drop dead from a sniper shot without any warning. Sucks dude :(

i think it's a hacker. I might be wrong but I don't think the helis will be operational until today/tomorrow. There was an issue with admins needing to apply a hotfix on the sever side.

Yeah man you were probably sniped. A crashed heli would definitely be worth camping at for two hours. The smoke will be seen and people will come running for a heli/good loot. Then they get a sniper bullet as a reward for all that running..

Meh, oh well guess i'll check harder next time.

But still, something that says "you have died from a gunshot wound" or "you have died from XXXXXX" will give people some clarification and make it easier to take.

Or just the clasic "you were killed by XXXX" would make for some grudge matches :)
