Survival servers, who will be the last to survive?

So, you think you have the skills to live the longest? Can you survive the zombies, starvation, dehydration and other players? With my suggestion, we can put your skills to the test!

First, a server is made fresh. People fill the server in a "waiting" area until 50 or so survivors are on. Then, the server spawns everyone at a random location on the coast, and it is a free for all from there on to see who can live the longest. A few changes

• Items that spawn, won't respawn. Food, Ammo and medical supplies will need to be rationed!
  
• Vehicles will spawn, but not respawn. All "gas" tanks can only refill jerry can a certain amount of times before they are empty
  
• Animals will spawn, but not respawn if killed.
  
• Food and water will drain faster. This will promote taking risks to get supplies, rather then just camp out in the forest waiting.
  
• When you log off, your character will remain in the game. This will be you sleeping.
  
• Death I permanent. If you die, the server will temp ban you until a new instant will start.
  

This would give game play a goal. Will you survive on your own? Forum a group to raid towns for supplies? Team up with other players to eliminate the competition, just remember, only one person can win.

I am thinking these servers will last about a week before there is one person left. After the person win, the server restarts, respawns everything and waits for 50 more people to join.

I don't want EVERY server to be this way, just a few. It is a great way to work towards a "end game goal".

Sounds exactly like Hunger Games. Very cool concept. Another term we use for something like this is Iron-Man competition.

I think it just gives the player a goal to work towards. Gives death a REAL "game over" moment, not just losing your gear.

I also like the idea of people who teamed up. When will they back stab each other? Cuz only one will win!

You could even go as far as keeping stats of people games.

Heres another idea:

I would also like to see a DayZ domination server in which players work out of a captured town or base with limited supplies and have to go capture all the towns on cherno. Food, water, and the scarcity of Dayz should still exist and no Over powered vehicles would be in the game. Increase the fog to make zombies harder to see. It would be fun.

Stuff like this is what I expect from a stand alone Dayz. Give different game mode options.

I like the Idea but the last one must have some kind of reward ... otherwise, people will hide and nothing will may happen or may last like weeks or months !

Well you have to have supplies to hide. Remember food and water drain faster, and food and water does not respawn!

For me, First thing I would do is try to repair a vehicle. The speed and ability to travel would be huge advantage. After that, raid town after town getting supplies, and filling my vehicle. Once full, I would then roam the country side looking for players who are hiding! Of course, I could get ambushed by bandits while at a town, and it would be game over!

I think that Is why I like the idea of the map. I really PUSHES you towards confrontation. Maybe give each server a time limit of one week, and of the timer expires, the person with the highest score (zombie +player kills) wins.

It would be nice as a diffident way to play the game, and once again, I am not trying to get this the ONLY way to play, just a different mode of play.

Maybe for the last few people left on the server, we could have a thunder dome to the finish :)

one might also add features like when only 10 remain the map will shrink to even more force confrontation since there will be fewer hiding places
