I have been alive for 6 days, and havent seen a single player

Recommended Posts

I usual join servers with around 30 people in it. I stick to the middle of the map, particularly the forests. I don't take unnecessary risks. I have been to the Eastern airfield once and am heading to the Northern airfield. I will probably meet someone their, or get shot.

I have this happen to me as well, even with a decent population the middle/fringes of the map seem to have very few people which is good for those that want to play there. Don't let your guard down though, players shoot on sight in the mid map as much as the coast it seems. (when you actually run into them)

I've been alive for a total of around 6 hours (First life too) and I'm around Polana. I've had two player encounters, the first encounter was deep in Elektro (This being the beginning of my life) inside the school and he was definitely not friendly. He came down on me looting a random spawn and luckily i heard him and got up by the time he saw me and started running, he had TERRIBLE aim. I got stuck in the doorway due to the clunkiness and used the alt technique to look at my back and he was right behind me shooting. Luckily, i made it away uninjured and got into the firestation looking for a weapon. Then, I catch a glimpse of movement near the door of the station and it was another player and I start running. BUT, he called out to me through voice chat saying he wont shoot me dont run, so knowing i have nothing to loose i decide to trust him for a little and it turns out he was VERY friendly. He asked if i needed any medical supplies or help from him. He also told me that there was a shotgun upstairs with ammo. Finally, he asks if i want him to stay with me or not, sadly i had not set up my communication (nor knew how to even use it) so he left.

TL:DR/ I have only seen two people, 1 hostile, and the other friendly. I'm still alive on my first life.

I was alive for 42 days and died in a 4 people on server, in the middle of nowhere, with a bullet into my head. Yep, never, never, down your guard :P

Thanks, now I can communicate! But, I think I've seen too much too even bother to communicate. If possible, I'm just going to avoid large cities as much as possible and at that, also avoid the players.

Too true. After 16 days of wilderness survival and camp raiding without encountering a single player, I got sniped in patch of forest near a small lake south of the Skalka rocks. I had just filled my canteen, too, which makes me wonder if my killer had been staking out the lake for just that reason. If so, that's a patient player.

That's why I say hey man nice shot.

Sounds like how I played when I was solo. Spawn in Kamenka, hit the three stands North and live in the woods after finding a knife, hatchet and matches. I've gotten more adventurous since some friends joined me.

Ya dude, never has the term 'camping' in a FPS been more accurate.

The whole "nothing to lose" concept is bogus, if you kept running you have nothing to lose because that is your best chance of getting away. I normally shoot on site, or alternatively if they are too far away I'll hunt them down till I find them. The one single time I ran into someone, who claimed "Hey man don't shoot blah blah friendly blah blah", I thought "Well, he seen me first, so if he wanted to shoot me he could have at this range", I went with him for a bit checked some loot spawns, and then he shot me. Stupid move on my part, I know, I really should have just shot him, but it was a lesson re-learned.

The only people I won't shoot are trusted medics.

Chernarus is 220km squared. That is 48400km of land. Your average server has 50 people on it, meaning each person would have on average 968km of land to themselves if spread out equally. That is why you don't see many people, because the land is so huge people are spread out so thinly. Plus this with the fact many people will get some gear in Cherno/Elektro and then head north through various means, causing people to split.

Lies, if you are a friendly player I let you live... bandits are the only things I shoot, o and zombies but yeah.

hanging around mid of map, I might have seen u in my sniper scopes a few times... you would have never known either, I play on servers with 30-70+ people, I switch most of the day cause I hardly see anyone, but I do see a few regulars as I call them, always the same people on the same servers in the middle area.

and before u jump to a conclusion, I do keep a list of server / name of player that I see on a regular basis. and if they are known as a bandit or I seen them doing bad things etc.

Heh, exact opposite experience for me. I can join a 4-7 player server and get killed within an hour. Funny enough, on a 40-player server I seem to last the longest.

I've been seeing the opposite. When I started a week ago, everyone seemed to shoot everyone on sight. Now, I'll enter a building, see a guy, and HE'LL say "friendly" over the mic. Its actually kind of nice. I dont really like killing non-hostile players (i play defensively), so this is a nice change.

/note

The reason I now play defensively is because I got hard-core karma'd yesterday. I was running around a random area, saw a guy running from zombies, and I sniped him at about 300m. I spent a good 10-15 minutes figuring out what gear to carry (he was loaded, I was too). I finally got what I wanted, and set off. I went to a nearby dear-stand in the middle of nowhere, and was shot almost instantly by a sniper. This was literally within 5 minutes of me finishing looting the other guy :/

I think I'm only in like day 2 of survival but me and a couple friends have been running up and Dow. The shore and thru the forests going between NW Airfield and Zelenogorsk constantly looking for crashed helo's got my self a ghillie suit and an as50 headed to skalka and grabbed that Ural way up there so now me and my buddies are pretty set to go on our adventures for more gear :) side chat helped me actually meet some friendly people which is why I wish more servers had sidechat on them. - Happy Hunting

Mmm...no. It's 225 square kilometers. Roughly 15km in either direction.
