Inception.

Let me share the most epic experience I have had in DayZ thus far.

Someone on this forum was asking for medical attention as he was at 3000 blood, in the Zelenogorsk supermarket. I was near there, so I decided to help him out. We arranged a server and what we would do to ensure we both leave alive.

I did not know whether or not it was a trap, but that didn't matter. I would judge his stance as friendly or enemy when the time came.

So I arrived on the hill in view of the supermarket and told him to log in. I needed to take a look at him before I gave him a transfusion. He logged in, and I told him to then crawl to the front of the supermarket [the two glass doors] and lay there.

But, suddenly, a zombie had spotted him and starting to attack him. He was knocked unconscious and the zombie began to feast on his flesh.

It was then that I knew I had to help him...so I started to sprint across 500 meters of open field that held 60+ zombies [yes, 'twas true] on it.

Now, beforehand, I had loaded up The Dark Knight Rises main theme and let it load. My internet loads Youtube videos slowly.

Just moments after I started to run across the field, the video finally loaded and started to play...

Picture this: The Dark Knight Rises theme music in the background of a lone player sprinting across the field with approximately 65 hungry zombies/infected behind him. How epic is that?

So I'm running with the infected on my tail...and then the guy's name that I was supposed to help popped up the killfeed saying that he was dead. A wave of guilt went over me. No time to turn around and shoot; not enough ammo to eradicate all of them.

When I get to the road just before the supermarket, around 30 more zombies come from within the town; I now have 105-ish zombies on me. I enter the supermarket and start firing my Enfield into the flesh of the infected. [Remember, the music is still playing.] There are around 70 zombies coming in from the front of the supermarket...I'm cornered. After taking out some zombies I run out of ammo. "This is the end", I thought. But when I walk to the back on the supermarket, what do I see? An Enfield with 6 mags. Lucky me. I pick them up and resume firing. But then, I notice that there are zombies missing. Moments later, what do I hear on direct communication? "Need some help there, buddy?" As soon as he says that, 0:44 of this video [

] begins.

He runs in from the back door and runs to the back where I am. "Leave," I say. "Make a run for it. Don't waste your character's life." He responds with "No way; this is fucking epic. I'm staying 'till the end." Fine by me; another Enfield in the hands of another player is great. I knew that he wouldn't kill me, because then he would half the chance of surviving 100 or so zeds.

He starts firing with me. [Remember again, the music is still playing, so this is beyond epic.]

In about three minutes, we finish of the remaining threats. The bodies lay along the front of the supermarket and the road outside of it. You can't see the ground; all you can see are the corpses. It's a spectacular view.

I start to hide the dead zed's bodies so I can find the player's body who I was going to help. Food...lots of food. He had a shittone.

My zombie slaying buddy asks "what happened to him?" I then tell him the story, right up until the part where he comes and helps. When thank each other, exchange items and go our separate ways.

So, that's the end of that. What an experience; what a site. If I had more time, I would have recorded/screenshotted it for you guys, but I didn't, so I apologise.

This brings me to a thought that other also share: Rocket, give us zombie herds that roam in the fields. It will make more epic events like this happen.
