al_chosen_one@hotmail.com 6 Posted July 29, 2012 I think it was a good idea to remove it and all but the map is so big that to run from kamenka to elektro that's not even fair. I think they should add the respawn button back imo because it's use full instead of running into a crowd of zombies to respawn anyway.
DannyDog 532 Posted July 29, 2012 I've thought about it and I think it makes the game more boring.I wouldn't want to walk from the side of Kamenka and run all the way to the town then proceed to Balota.I think, you should be able to choose where you want to respawn, but once you do the next time you respawn, its greyed ou so you have to choose another one.It could reset every 1 hour?Just an idea.
optionism 28 Posted July 29, 2012 They should actually have a boundary for it, cause currently if you have a sprained ankle or such the respawn button is activated. Like leave Cherno or Elektro, head about 2,000m in north, and then it's activated. Boundary mainly because it is easy to die in Elektro or Cherno. Main towns by the coast. slyder73 94 Posted July 29, 2012 Why do you all think you have to run to Elektro or to Balota? There are hundreds of other places to go on the map.Got friends playing? Plan to meet someplace where they can come back towards you, hopefully bringing some equipment. We do that anytime one of us dies. All plans stop and we go back to support the respawn of our group on his journey from the beach. If you're alone, you don't NEED to be anywhere or to run anywhere.

JKflipflop 40 Posted July 29, 2012 people constantly respawning was slowing down the serversyou can still suicide by zombies. . . and this doesn't set off any lightbulbs in your little head? What's the difference between hitting the respawn button and running headlong into a pack of zombies? The same thing is happening either way.
syncmaster (DayZ) 63 Posted July 29, 2012 Hackers nuking everyone on the server is much faster than tracking them down 1 by 1 and killing them? The hackers just want to save just like you guys, I don't see what the problem is.Keep admitting to exploiting the game so I can know to avoid you guys. If it makes you feel better justify it anyway you want. IMO now you are no better than people who dupe, Alt F4, and all that fun stuff.

There really is NO reason to go near Cherno or Elektro. There are hundreds of good loot spawn spread all over the map. if you can navigate by the map using landmarks and countour lines, lay of the land you have no problem. Once you work your way to the towns away from the big ones you'll get geared up faster and avoid getting killed doing it. Zombie are a non-issue, they spawn wherever you go and are easy to avoid or hatchet kill.To each their own, but I haven't been in Elektro or Cherno, or Berezino for that matter in over a month (three lives). Each restart it was straight to the nearest few treestands and towns in the center for gear, compass, map, guns and beans. Usuallly armed up and set up in a night and the following two nights are getting together with group and getting us all to military grade. GeneticAssclown 1 Posted July 29, 2012 (edited) This is a meant to be a zombie apocalypse simulator, right? In real life, if you live in redneck county, and you're 2km away from the closest major city, tough it out cause you're walking.Same thing applies to DayZ. Dubkipz (DayZ) 8 Posted July 29, 2012 I agree with choosing where you respawn. I was trying to meet up with my friends and it took over 3 hours (they are new).
drake_hb@hotmail.com 22 Posted July 29, 2012 The respawn button is meant to work when you're injured, right? I broke my leg and was bleeding out today and couldn't respawn.
Akael 2 Posted July 29, 2012 Do you realise Kamenka is probably the best place to spawn? Head directly north and you have several deer stands, followed by a supermarket town, followed by an easy route to the main airfield, and almost guaranteed you won't get killed on the way.Or are you just trying to hunt noobs? dontblamecows 5 Posted July 29, 2012 Having the respawn button enabled was actually pausing servers so they could figure out where to place that person. Having a good 10-15 people just spamming respawn until they get to their favourite location was killing server performance, and so it was removed.Yes running into a town and dying by zombies is the same deal, but it isn't re-occurring as much and as easily as the respawn button allowed. This change is a good thing, it just seems people want to be spoon fed their locations and be able to easily spawn near a large town, grab their gear and run off. That isn't much of survival is it? The respawn button still works if you have a fractured leg. Learn to read the change log before you try to make up a troll story.
