Kicked out of the game

So I just found a map for the first time in this game. And looking through the menu on the map, I was clicking on everything in order - map, notes... and whatever comes next, I didn't even read to be honest.

I clicked on the last one and it showed me a screen like the one you get in lobby when pressing server control button. I then immediately got kicked out. I really don't care about that and didn't feel like waiting again to start the game so I exited the entire game. Then it hit me - will my character be saved when I join the game again?

Yes your gear should be fine, it kicks anyone for trying to enter controls to stop script kiddies destroying the game! :)
