Temporary Bleeding, please?

Recommended Posts

It's come to my attention lately that, more times than once, I've been caught out by circumstances out of my control where I've come out bleeding.

I understand and appreciate the bleeding system completely, and I want it to stay, but my only suggestion is that the bleeding slows down and eventually stops - I can't imagine me bleeding to death from a fist hitting my arm, can you?

I know people will argue that you should be careful not to agro zombies etc, which is why I put forward this;

Take into account how unpredictable the Zombie's animations are, not their behaviour - they can walk through walls, teleport to you, they generally stutter and jitter all over the place when attacking you. You can barely fight back at close range, if you score a hit you're lucky.

I just feel that one zombie bash from 12,000 blood to death is a little unfair - especially if you're out at a deer stand with no bandages for a good 5-10 minute walking radius.

Perhaps start with a severe bleeding, slow it down and gradually have the bleeding end.

Gunshots are a different story - I believe if you are shot with a gun, to the upper torso, you should suffer intense bleeding and death very quickly unless bandaged. Obviously broken bones etc come into play too, you get the idea.

Sorry if this seems wrong, I've just come from a good 2 hour session which ended because my game started flashing up graphics artifacts, I couldn't see where I was running, I was hit once on the arm by a zombie and I subsequently bled to death.

It just doesn't feel fair, that until more bugs are fixed and the zombie's behaviours get fine tuned, I'll still be able to be hit just once and go from full health to dead within minutes.

The bleeding does have a small chance to stop.

Typically it will take you down all the way to around 2000 blood though, and that is starting around 10k.

It would be nice to see a more dynamic blood loss system, but I think we will have to wait for Arma 3 for anything like that to be implemented.

You aren't playing the game right if you wander up north without a bandage.

I wouldn't mind if the max you could bleed after being hit was down to 7k or something and the bleed and then it goes away. Obviously if you got hit again you would lose another 5k blood down to 2k, so almost everyone is still going to be bandaging, it can get minorly annoying when you respawn and (in my situation I was just a dumbass) almost bleed to death.

You actually stop bleeding.

My friends got stuck in Kabanino with a UAZ in 1.7.2.3.

The thing exploded = forced me to run 1000m to save their lives with seconds to spare.

One of my friends were stuck under the UAZ, so I had to go prone and drag him out.

My bone broke, but I managed to save him and apply some bandages.

I fix my leg, drag them both inside and log out for the day with a laugh.

I boot up in 1.7.2.4, thinking "Well, I don't need anything more.. Boring. Lets kill some Zeds for the fun of it"

I wasted approximately 9 magazines of MP5SD6 and 6 magazines 30rnd STANAG.

Suddenly, Mike Tyson approaches me and slaps my shit, leaving me unconcious and bleeding for a few seconds.

I get up, spray half a magazine into him so that I may lick my wounds in peace.

Hey, whadd'ya know? No bandages left.

So, I run around Kabanino feeling like Forrest Gump consuming beans and sardines to keep my blood at a non-lethal level, desperately looking for a bandage.

I run out of beans and sardines and I reach a lethal level of blood.

I accepted my fate. I wasn't going to live another day.

I put a bullet in everything that moved, nothing were to survive me.

At 2000 blood, my "trustworthy" M1911 had nothing left to consume.

I sat down under a tree to meditate.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

...

I open my eyes, still left with 2000 blood.

My wound has been mended with time.

I leave the ground in rejoice, as I survived death.

Nothing could stop me now.

I leave the forest, about to enter a residential building to find consumables.

I reach out for the door knob, grab it, twist it.

The door slides open, allowing me entrance.

Suddenly, I lose my consciousness and fall to the ground due to my lethal blood level.

The door, still in movement, managed to trap my leg.

I heard a crack, and a sudden rush of pain and adrenaline went through my body.

My vision blurs out as the pain leaves my body.

No more tears.

Only dreams.

No dude, the way bleeding works in this game is fine. There is still a chance you will stop bleeding. Also it would be kind of lame if i shot a guy and he Alt+F4s into another server and doesnt bleed to death on log in like he deserves.

I also think the bleeding will stop at some level. It depends. But it happened to me, too. I wonder every time I log out and when I log in again the next day, I have +2000 blood. It's odd, but I feel fine with that.

The bleeding should be improvised. If you've been hurt by a zombie, you should bleed then slowly start degraduating until it stops. If you don't put a bandage while bleeding, there's a chance you could get poisoned or infected and then your blood will degrade and maybe you will be more slower. Then you should get medicines at hospitals. There could be specific medicines for different types: Medicine for poison, for infection, etc.

If you've been shot, you could have an haemorrhage, which would only stop if you bandage and maybe take a type of medicine.

lol bandages are common enough you should never run out

Its not that bandages are hard to find, its that they are so common people decide to take 1 or 2 bandages and carry pistol ammo in the other slots because of how common they are. And when they actually need them, bandages are no where to be found resulting in the most unnecessary death possible.

This post is ancient, it started in July last year.

How far did you go to find this?

Bandages > pistol ammo. I never go anywhere with less than 3, preferably 4. Had a bad experience, never again. I thought bleeding already stopped once you got down to about 2000 blood, that's what I read on the Wiki.

Bleeding will sometimes stop on its own, without the need for a bandage. If you continue to bleed, it will not stop until you reach 2000 blood or apply a bandage.

Correct?

As far as Im aware there isn't any chance you will stop bleeding, if left untreated the bleeding will lead to death.

There is a very slim chance bleeding will stop without a bandage, its happened to me about 3 times over a year of playing this game.

Holy necro batman. I find that bleeding actually stops quite often for me without the application of a bandage. Often, though, this leaves me very low on blood, at the point where i oft pass out. Gunshots rarely stop bleeding, zombie hits do more often, but i find that being in a vehicle crash resulting in an explosion almost always stops bleeding near the lethal zone.
