Do bear traps despawn?

I saw a thread similar to mine but there was no decisive answer that I saw.

Essentially I placed a bear trap near my tent and a day later it is gone. Tent is unlooted (just as the other person in their own thread didn't lose any items from their tent).

I think beartraps will dissapear if server restarts.

I've noticed if I place a bear trap, logout wait a few minutes and come back on the server they have despawned. Not sure if that's how they are intended to work or not but seems once you logout after a certain amount of time (or right away) they disappear =\.

Same here bear traps vanish. Sucks thought I could use them to protect my camp while i was gone. Having a problem with someone connecting to server at my camp taking my goods then disconnecting just to connect back after a few minutes later and take more stuff, I know they got a camp on a different server where their dropping my stuff off at. their camp has to be in the same location as mine on their server just cant find which server :(

Has happened to myself.

Bloody things are more dangerous for the person that sets the trap than any poor soul that happens to wander by, imho.
