Alfiey 1 Posted July 28, 2012 I am a server admin, and am curious about some of the kicking / banning rules.The other day while I was in Cherno a sniper killed one of my buddies right next to me while one of his buddies started climbing the building we were on. I got behind cover and watched the guy on the ladder. He then disappeared and I looked at BERcon to get his name. About 10 minutes later this player that DC'd rejoins the server and I see him behind me. In this situation, is it alright to ban? He technically didn't "Hack" the game, but he did ghost behind me while I was legit covering the ladder he tried to climb up. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

KField86 237 Posted July 30, 2012 I've kicked people for doing it. If they come back and do it again, I'll throw a 48 hour ban on em and see how they like it. As long as rocket admits it's exploitation of game mechanics, then I feel it's a gray area and I'm going to do it until I'm told not to. Tons of servers for people like that to play on. CamP 81 Posted July 30, 2012 (edited) I've decided to start banning players that do this (ghosting) trick. As an owner of a server I feel this exploitation is ban worthy. I have zero tolerance for this nonsense. Perma ban from my server to anyone who gets caught doing it. If you don't want to perma-die and lose your gear, feel free to find yourself another game.Don't be a pansy, take your death with honor and dignity. Sumsang 0 Posted July 30, 2012 People who die as a consequence of a mistake they made, should take their death and learn out of it. Escaping from situation is totally unfair and should be punished! Every should have a second or even third chance, so when I would see someone disconnecting to prevent death the first time I would kick or temp ban him, and a second/third time ban him permantly. But it isn't a real punishment when those players can start with the same gear from the same spot on an other server, without any real punishment accorded to their character. Alfiey 1 Posted August 5, 2012 I know Vilayer gave a bann list out to my server when I bought it from them and I believe they keep it updated.But thanks for the replies, I was just curious if me banning that guy was against the rules. Since that incident I've banned about 6ish more people for doing the same thing. No they weren't all ghosting against me, i received emails with youtube links with people frapsing this and they sent me times of the occurrence. Went back through the logs, compared times of people DCing / reconnected with the fraps video and the name of the player they were accusing and banned people accordingly.
