Well it is! Survival is just a short word for saying: "Shit happened and now you have to deal with it" ... so if this is a survival game, which it is called, and the content largely consists of 'shit happening', and dealing with that shit is the other part of the content ... so, yeah :thumbsup:

Nice. So that works for the people who are turned into cows, thrown off the map, or starts on the very edge of the map so they have to run 30 minutes to get to a zombie? I was started on the EDGE of the map. I have been running 20+ minutes just to find a zombie to kill me, and guess what? Now I have to get off to work. It took me an hour to find a server I could actually spawn on without getting stuck at loading, and now this. YAY DAYZ!

spawned on the edge of map... that means you was about 100-500 meters from kamenka... so it wasnt 30 minuts.. but 15 max.

Exaclty LOGIN, that is the way these group spawn whines should be playing...but alas they don't get it...they want it all...and NOW DAMMIT! :D

Anyone who doesnt like the removal of the respawn button because they "can't meet with their friends" is completely missing the point of this game...

Dude being teleport'ed out to nowheres land and sitting there for 1 hour is not survival. Some of us want the button back for legit resons not cause "Its hard to play with friends" We don't want a new way for hackers to grief us

@wigumen, please read my post, it was not adressed to your specific problem, which btw is a problem of a bug or hackers and the respawn is a work around to that, not a sollution...

The respawn button isn't gone, it's still active, you may only use it when you have a broken bone though. Now stop bitching about it, I'd be complaining about the reduced weapon damage instead of something which could've used a good fix and got one. They disabled it because people were accidentally pressing it and losing all their gear, the unable to be chosen spawn point is just a side effect, which I personally don't mind, there's three deer stands near Kamenka, the worst spawn I could think of is the Three Valleys spawn point, but even that's not so bad.

If you get teleported or transformed or sent into limbo, just wait to starve, tab out and watch something it doesn't matter. I'm seriously beginning to wonder how many people on this forum log on and instantly post a thread without even looking it up. Plus, you don't even consider both sides, as far as you're concerned, it doesn't benefit you directly so it is a terrible terrible thing. Grow up a little and think before you do.

Again with the ALPHA remarks....you groupies love waving that flag the second someone voices an opinion that differs from your own or dares to criticise the mod you worship. You do realise what an ALPHA is all about don't you? The whole point if for people express ideas or suggest changes to make it better. In this case I feel that one fix for a problem (strain on hive/people abusing respawn) is going to make a more serious problem (script kiddies) much much worse. Time will tell but it's starting to get pretty obvious that the Dev team doesn't care about the scripting problem. If they did they would have allowed server admins to ban people ages ago.

Oh and stick your advice where the sun doesn't shine, Sir.

Ive been hacked, Teleported to the middle of nowhere (off the map) Unable to kill myself

Friend of mine also got hacked and transformed into a cow, Cant repawn

Ive reinstalled and deleted and created new profiles, Doenst work

Either fix the hacking problem or re enable repawn, Its required

Rocket did state that this removal of the respawn button was not a fix but merely a test to see how it would affect gameplay.

I don't like the fact you can't respawn on a whim and a lot of legitimate reasons are present as to why you should be allowed to respawn.

I believe the respawn option will be brought back when and if you are allowed to select were you want to spawn.

I think the respawn button should be brought back, but can only be used(pressed) every 5 or 10 minutes.

This is long enough to prevent suicides and still allows for a respawn if, you are glitched or hacked(as mentioned above).

I agree with this; It's unnecessary to completely remove function.

I can totally understand micdawg12 and nofy12, but this is DayZ and DayZ is different from other games. I don't want to sound rude, but if you don't have the time to play DayZ the way the creator wants it to be played, go play Left4Dead2 or All Zombies Must Die! - more suitable for casual players like you seem to be. My friends and I usually played some hours on our own, got stuff together, got to know the map etc. and when we found we were "ready", we discussed where to meet roughly and as I said, had a lot of fun getting there.

the creators are still making it its still a mod not even in beta just a mod im just giving my opinion as a person who spends a lot of money on games and tell my friends and they get the game but if they want to sell more copies they mite make a little more player friendly i bot the game for dayz never cared a bout arma and now i cant get my friends to play so i guess it mite be time for a new game

I know you can't do this if you're teleported out into the tundra, but does the respawn block even help?

If you want to respawn, all you have to do is break your legs. That means climbing and jumping.

Only slows people down by a few minutes.

A few bad apples spoil the bunch ;) People were exploiting respawn. Now it's gone. Supposedly with a broken leg or stuck in debug its supposed to enable. But ya know nothings perfect. Why don't you go outside and play for awhile until it's fixed.

i agree with all of you.

they want to reduce the server load but it failed.

people are still dieing now as often as before (!!), it just takes alot longer to spawn in the right spot. makes gameplay really boring and its damn hard to meet friends.

It takes a lot longer for them to die, instead of just esc->respawn

It is probably saving a lot of cpu-use for not having the HIVE dealing with 40 deaths/sec at least ( lots of servers ) because of that.

Its purpose is being fullfilled.
