No entry '.profilePathDefault'

Recommended Posts

I suddenly started having a lot of trouble getting DayZ to run. I had a shortcut set up that gave me the Steam overlay and worked perfectly and even worked after the Arma2 update. I restarted my computer and the Steam shortcut vanished, hence lots of problems trying to get DayZ to work again.

I'm now running 1.7.2.4 with the latest BETA (95417) with the latest BE client. I can only run through running _runA2CO_beta in the operation arrowhead folder, which creates no problems and I can run DayZ. It does start up a command line script and the main menu screen has the Arma2 bugged ocean instead of the DayZ Chernarus background, but those are minor points.

I can no longer create a Steam shortcut and when running arma2oa.exe from operation arrowhead/Expansion/beta, I get the error No entry '.profilePathDefault. I've also tried using the beta launcer shortcut in the OA folder, but that gives me the same thing. I've checked file paths (which is what I assume to be the error) and nothing seems wrong. I have ;@dayz edited into the_runA2CO_beta.cmd file (which makes that .cmd work) but it doesn't seem to work with the .exe in the beta folder, which is what is used for a Steam shortcut and that worked before. It also has other errors, like saying I don't have a certain file (which I do) and DayZ not even being loaded when arma2oa.exe is ran from the beta folder.

I have followed this guide religiously. http://www.dayzwiki....to_install_DayZ

It worked for me before, but now seems redundant.

I don't know why only the .cmd file seems to make DayZ run and the beta .exe only gives me errors (profile path) or doesn't load DayZ at all.

Is it due to all the new patches and changes or is there something I'm missing? Would love to be able to have a Steam shortcut again and be able to run DayZ without errors.

Thanks for posting this, saving me some time. <3

I have the EXACT same problem.

When I (I use Six Launcher) try to join a server, it says, as listed above: .profilePathDefault

Here is a screenshot: http://prntscr.com/ctdev

If anyone can answer this, it will be MUCH appreciated by me and Anton surely.

Thanks for helping,

you dont use / in windows paths.

It's \

Erm, pretty sure I just used / in the OP for convenience... all file paths in system, of course, use \.

You wanna take a potshot at my grammar, too?

The only thing that seems slightly out of the norm is that when verifying OA's cache, 2 files always fail to validate (3.5kb total) and doesn't seem to change after they're downloaded.

Is it just ArmA OA or both Arma2 and arma2 OA

if it is both then its just an .exe file or something of the sort, that are always unverified. if it just OA, then I have no idea unless you look at what file that is specifically. (if you can, I've never found out)

It's just the OA beta. I've tried 3 different versions. The base games work fine. The weird thing is the beta works when the run_beta .cmd is executed.

I've tried verifying both caches and started them both more than once, have even moved the profiles out of my documents and started another profile and set it to default on both Arma2 and OA. Still no luck. Strangely, it regenerated two profiles after I moved them out of my documents and started the game. That must mean there's a line of code somewhere and a backup/alternate location for profiles. Assuming that's even the issue.

Can anyone help? It only occurs when launching the OA beta. Reinstalled several times already with different beta versions.

I hate to keep bumping like some annoying forum new-guy, but I've searched google up and down without an answer (relating to the beta version) and my own troubleshooting has been exhausted with nil point.

Hey Man I had this problem today and I uninstalled my game and reinstalled and found out I was downloading OA into my arma 2 directory (C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2) and that was the wrong thing to do so move it back one to bohemia interactive and it should fix your problem :)

Unfortunately I'm not in the right position to re-download the game (bandwidth).

What files did you move?

I expect this should help with your problem

1. start steam as administrator and let it patch arma II and arma II OA

2. rightclick arma II arrowhead(OA) > properties > local files > defragment cache files.

3. start sixlauncher and play
