Lukey2k 13 Posted July 28, 2012 http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?76882-Full-Screen-NVGMight seem dumb, but is this allowed or not? Would like word from rocket on this one, or someone who can confirm it.
Rampancy 1 Posted July 28, 2012 I think it would be considered hacking. It's third party mod that affects unfairly.
dallas 5195 Posted July 28, 2012 You wont be able to run that mod in DayZ.
zenatsu (DayZ) 96 Posted July 28, 2012 I honestly have no issues with the current sight disadvantage of the NVG's.Its better than not seeing anything at all. (It's called balance. Full vision for reduced FOV.)
Tsyn 215 Posted July 28, 2012 This is totally unfair. I personally love the realism with the NVG's.
Wrath (DayZ) 140 Posted July 28, 2012 Uhhh yeah thats definitely cheating.
v1ktor 59 Posted July 28, 2012 (edited) lol @ the down syndrome children above meArma II engine was made to be highly mod-able and thats why we are having the hacker problems.1) this mod is 100% compatible with dayz as it only modifies vision files2) you can do this yourself if you go into arma II (base game) files and find nvg; go photoshop, edit the image to whatever you like and TADA! You have your own custom nvg effect Edited July 28, 2012 by v1ktor
Lukey2k 13 Posted July 28, 2012 anyone can confirm if its allowed or not then?
ratfever 27 Posted July 28, 2012 It's cheating. You have an advantage that the average player wouldn't have? It's cheating.

bobtom 10 Posted July 29, 2012 I suppose it would be okay. But I don't think rocket has touched on it. You can try it and see if you can get into the servers, and if you can't then its obvious you can't. I'm not sure what type of mod detection Rocket has implemented. Doctor_sloth 119 Posted July 29, 2012 I was going to go on a rant about how real-life NVG's are nothing like those in the game, but that's a bit off topic. So instead, I'd say go for it. It's not an "unfair advantage" in my opinion, the 1/16 fov reduction is a minor annoyance. I could also see it having adverse affects on people with tunnel vision, so there's a reason to use it if you've got that. And who says you can't run a mod on a mod? That would seem a bit ridiculous to me.
