UPDATED DAILY: I'm Issuing a Warning to Any Snipers

Recommended Posts

For too long, my worry is not zombies within major cities, but snipers counter snipers goats who's only joy in the game is killing people snipers counter snipers. Often they won't go for their loot which demonstrates how they only want to kill humans snipers counter snipers for the fun of it - despite what many of them lose in gear.

So I'm issuing a warning... wherever I am, in any server the snipers counter snipers goats in Cherno will be brought to justice. I will wait, and wait, and wait, and wait in darkness (or a gillie suit) and pursue you. I can't do it alone, but I hope to kill enough so they stop - at least on that server. If there are none, I will move server, and find you.

If I kill you from long distance: again, I will wait. I will wait until you foolishly try to regain your gear and BANG you're dead again. When I reach the top of the roof and skilfully crawl up behind you, make no mistake about it - I WILL say in direct communication "Stick this up your arse you little prick!" before I blow your brains out.

Snipers Counter snipers Goats, I'm coming for you.

They will repent for their sins against humanity!

But seriously, go for it.

This clown. I play on US188/NY84 a lot so you're more than welcome to attempt to kill me. You'll just be another player who couldn't hack it and ended up taking a long dirt nap.

.50 cals hurt, brah.

Whether for personal safety or for practice or thrills, no rules are broken. This mod has great foundations for roleplaying anything from a comerade to a psycho and everyone picks the balance for themselves.

Snipers are meant to take out a threat in a manner where they can't relaliate. Ideally before their target is made aware of the danger they're in. It's a textbook example of self-preservation. It's a needless risk to let potentially deadly unknowns wander around when they can handle them there and then. And a giant kick in the teeth if you lost your awesome equipment because you decided to be a nice guy to your killer.

Despite what fiction might indicate, the apocalypse isn't actually likely to make humanity unite.

Isn't it needless risk, (if we're talking real life), to lay down next to an incredibly large city and shoot an incredibly loud gun? I wouldn't use the argument you just presented anymore.

no. that is what cover and concealment is for. join the military and learn.. if I'm going to shoot off anything larger than a 5.56mm round from distance. you can be DAMN sure I'm not gonna be IN the city firing it.

lol okay? You missed what I was trying to explain. He was basically (due to the context of this thread) defending the snipers on the coast saying it would be practical in real life. Nobody would sit along the large coastal cities and shoot other people to prevent a potential threat. If they were truly that scared of other people they would try and flee from civilization not run back to it.

I didn't miss what you were trying to say at all. marksmen can and do sit in locations similar to described to prevent a potential threat. the SAS and SBS do it, I know first hand.

Most snipers are shooting at 600m+. Loudness is not a factor. You can't pinpoint a human body with an ear at that range.

especially not when said body is concealed and hopefully in a well scouted and un-obvious position to the target

You're saying that everyone is 600m away in real life? That there's no one that happens to be closer than that? Are you guys trolling me? And you're bring up the SAS? A security the nation has PAYED to have protect the country from threats which are actually KNOWN. You think they post up somewhere and just shoot innocent civilians all day because they might become homegrown terrorists. Shit... guys like... I'm so confused as to whether or not you actually think these are valid points?

WOW PEOPLE EVEN GAVE YOU BEANS? Of course the target isn't a problem or worry he's supposed to be DEAD considering you're doing it right... shit yall this is embarrassing.

Like I said...most. A sniper who is in his "best" position is usually farther than 600m. Why would you want to be closer?

Give me one reason why they would CHOOSE to be closer.

In this game, I'm rarely shooting at people under 400m unless it is with my L85, which is because they spooked me before I could pull out my M107.

I must not be conveying myself properly. I'm arguing that in a real life apocalypse sitting outside of Cherno and sniping people isn't realistic. You wouldn't chill outside of a large city wasting all of your ammo on murdering people because they MIGHT one day find you and kill you. That's fucking fucked up and isn't realistic, except for a psychopath.

This isn't a real life apocalypse though, this is a game, and if someone enjoys killing new players and they have the weaponry to do so, then that's their decision to make, and you don't get a say in it.

But the argument we were having was about real life. Also, I do get a say... it's the community forums for testers of a mod in alpha brotherman!

Camping snipers taking on camping snipers.. Oh the sweet irony

It's what makes DayZ original and hardcore!

DayZ is a video game...

but I digress.

I don't shoot into Cherno or Elektro because I know how easy it is to counter snipe so that is an unecessary risk. I DO camp the mountain between Cherno and Elektro and poke people in the head walking along the coast between the two cities. Even that is a rarity since I spend 90% of my time north of Stary Sobor. Berezino, Stary, Vybor and the airfields.

Yes, it is. Want a cracker... maybe a cookie? Or maybe some broccoli, growing boys need their vegetables! My initial argument was directed towards a character defending and saying this type of behavior was REALISTIC. Which is why I firmly believe anyone who is responding to me right now is mistaken. So... don't feel bad about being mistaken. It happens.
