So I've been playing for a little more than a day now, and I've just encountered my first experience with night. My question is how long does night last, are all servers on the same clock (meaning they're all dark right now), and what is clock that the mod runs on?

The game is in real time so night will last ...well all night! As for different times many servers list the times in the server info check that to find a server that is for enough ahead or behind to give you the daylight you want! :)

As a temp fix you can adjust your brightness and gamma (make sure your HDR is set to high in the graphics setting) this will allow you to get around at night.
