How Old Are You Poll (COD Or Crusties)

I was discussing in another thread if the success of this game is tied to the age of the people who play it. If the demographic of the player base is skewed towards the older gamers who came from the old school of gaming where you had a steeper learning curve and more in depth game play, where in fact things were not just handed to you on a plate like so many modern games do.

So I thought I'd see if there was a link between how much you love the game and how old you are. Is the game really hated by the 12 to 16 year old COD players and loved by us crusty old Duke Nukem 3d players.

So how old are you guys.

You should change the 10-18 to 8-12, and 14-18. Makes it a little easier to tell if said person is 10 yrs or 16.

The ages listed could be a bit more varied but otherwise a good thesis as said by another poster, i used to play Duke3d/wolfenstein/quake alot, and since im only 23 years old it seems kinda off that im so close to the 18 year olds who've never experienced these games.

Your right about the ages but if I change them now it will invalidate the results. However I have added two questions just to see how the older and younger sections see themselves.

The problem now is that we can't cast our vote in just 2 of them, we have to answer all 3 for it to acknowledge our vote meaning that all people older than 18 still have to vote in that category.

I fall into the 10-18 and yes, I still consider myself a child. Sure, I guess I'm more mature than the most part, but that does not mean I'm not a child anymore. I think you realize the difference between being a child and an adult only once you've become the latter. When it comes to playing though, I make sure I play fair, that's a must.

Im 46 ... the oldest person I play with is 38, and the youngest is 14 in a group of prolly 15 ... not many in my age group, but Im a kid in my brain, so its all good.

Its interesting to see that so far its almost exactly a 50/50 split between those over and those under 25. Now of cause this very basic poll doesn't take into account any other factors like the type of games people enjoy, if they like more casual games or hard core shooters but it does look from this small statistical sample that those who play and love Day Z come from all ages.

This is very interesting as I honestly thought that there would have been more older players. A stupid assumption on my part as I should know you shouldn't judge people by age.

Keep the votes coming, The more data the more accurate the poll will be. Not sure if Rocket will fins this useful. I'm sure he data mines the forum and can see the ages of people who joined but I'm guessing he can't see who is still playing.
