Silence dead players in chat

When players die, their typical response is to alert the whole server as to the position of their body. It's usually a rage-reaction because someone killed them. However, if you kill someone in real life, unless they're hooked up to some very sophisticated gear, their body shouldn't automatically call the police.

So I suggest the game prevents players from communicating in game when they die up until they respawn.

I've never understood why so many people attempt to validate a claim by using the "in real life" thing, simply because most claims made this way can be easily dismissed by using the same reasoning.

Back to the topic at hand though, I don't see an issue with people who have been killed relaying their position. If anything it gives whoever killed them the opportunity to sit back and wait for their next victim to come and loot the body.

The way I understand it, the game is attempting to reach some level of realism given the limitations of a game environment. Even in games not trying to be realistic, players relaying information in public chat after dying is often disabled.

I just think it's silly that a dead player can broadcast everything about their death while being dead. After they respawn, sure, but not while dead.

This is just my opinion, anyway.

Rocket confirmed the global chat will be removed once the direct works properly, so it's going to be just fine.

I think the problem is people telling their killers position after death. Say your stalking a group for a while, and they split up for a bit. You take out one of them, and seconds after he's dead he types out "watch out guys someone is at X and he's heading to Y" taking away the element of surprise. For someone who is trying to do things stealthily, and hasn't screwed up on their end, this could be really frustrating.

This will fix that. Of course TeamSpeak and other programs will still pose the same problem, but theres really nothing that can be done about them. I really can't wait until direct chat is fixed.

Thank god!

I'm already getting annoyed by joining english servers and russians spamming the hell out of the chat and no way of disabling it.

From what I understand, after this mod reaches a certain point, Rocket will remove Side/Global/Group chat (hopefully). Before this mod exploded and went public, Rocket actually had those server-wide chats disabled. I'm all for this, but you know there will be a large outcry "waaah I can't find my friend/can't met up with other people."

Last time I checked, in real life (hehe) you can't shout to the world and tell them where you are.

At least it would and will give you the time to move away. Think about a situation that you're in say.. the fire station of Cherno and you shoot someone who has friends, and he just yells to the chat warning his friends and everyone else that you shot him from that station. Not much time to relocate your ass.
