sherlock (DayZ) 31 Posted May 23, 2012 Arma2 doesn't give you access to faces with comouflage in your profile. However there is a way to use them:The following info is taken from: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?75231-Want-camo-face (I added a working link and reformulated a few things). Credit goes to Alex72 on the Arma2 forums."...1) Open the "Yourname.ArmA2OAProfile" (in Documents&Settings/ARMA2 folder) with notepad2) Use the search function (press CTRL+F) for "class Identity" and you should find something that looks like this:class Identity{face="Face01";glasses="Tactical";speaker="Male02";squad="";pitch=0.97714806;3) Go through this list of face classnames: http://www.armatechsquad.com/ArmA2Class151656165165341654165165165165f/A2/Faces/(if the above link doesn't work, use this one, scroll down untill you see faces and click on it)http://www.armatechsquad.com/ArmA2Class151656165165341654165165165165f/indexA2.php4) Choose a face you like and add its classname into the face line. Example: face="Face01_camo2";5) Save the file and dont change any settings in the profile section in the game. The camouflage face will not be displayed there. ..."Disclaimer: This works fine for Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead, I haven't tested if it works with dayz as well, but there is a very high probability it will.Update: I just tested it myself and it works just fine. Have fun with it.I hope I could help you.

sherlock (DayZ) 31 Posted May 23, 2012 Face links don't work.I saw that, the link is correct but it seems that the forums don't allow it. I changed the link to the page before that, just scroll down untill you see faces.I just gave it a try and can now confirm that it works in dayz.Have fun with the camo-faces. I hope I could be of service.

sherlock (DayZ) 31 Posted May 23, 2012 Didn't work for me' date=' perhaps I did something wrong..[/quote']What guide did you follow? Jesters or mine? If you followed mine, make sure you do not go back to your profile in game and change anything. Just join a server, go to 3rd person view and check if it's working. sherlock (DayZ) 31 Posted May 23, 2012 Do servers allow this stuff Roccofaces and all ?If you use the methode I posted (1st post) they don't have to allow it, since those faces are already part of arma 2, they just aren't accessible in the profile.
1mpuls3 2 Posted May 23, 2012 Just tried this online in DayZ, worked fine. Checked my face out (lol) and indeed it was the camoflauged face of my choice, server didn't react to it either. Though, I did not encounter any other players in-game (for once) so I don't know if the camo face is visible for other players, or just you. Odds are that everyone can see it as these faces comes along with OA, and so it shouldn't be a problem.I do however suggest that you do what Sherlock posted earlier in this thread (like I did with success), instead of using what Massive posted. The problem with the addon Massive posted, from my point of view, is that in order for it to function you must add a new mod after @Dayz in your shortcut, and I can imagine that this causes a problem when you connect to an online server. sephisto69 201 Posted May 23, 2012 I followed your guide. I think I know what I'm doing wrong, there's 2 profiles on my Arma, I can't delete one of them from the in-game menu, would it be safe to delete the folder/config of that Profile, it won't affect settings or progress from the Profile that I do use? Change the profile named .ArmA2OAProfile. Open it up with notepad or something, find the line mentioned earlier in this post (Ctrl+F ftw), change it, save it, start up DayZ, do not alter anything in your profile in-game, just go online in a server and check yourself out in 3rd person. I lost all changes to the settings (graphical, audio and controls) but it didn't effect my progress within dayz. So, I woundn't expect any trouble if you delete it. Just do not empty your bin right away and check ingame first (better save than sorry ;) ).However if your profile is the active one and you edited the file in the Arma 2 folder, I don't see how the second one could intervere. Make sure that you follow the instructions to the letter.I hope this helps you to solve your problem.
sephisto69 201 Posted May 23, 2012 I tried that just now, no difference, and I just can't delete the useless profile that I don't use at all. The delete option is greyed out. When I deleted the config/folders for the useless profile, I ran Arma 2, selected MY profile and played a match then exited the game. After that I looked into my Arma 2 folder and the config's were somehow recreated for the useless profile, yet I didn't select that profile...Why would the delete option even be greyed out? I did a google search but got nothing. Also here are the folders for Arma2 etc -Documents Folderhttp://img18.imageshack.us/img18/5439/arma1q.jpgArmA 2 Folderhttp://img140.imageshack.us/img140/4420/arma2m.jpgArmA 2 Other Profiles Folderhttp://img32.imageshack.us/img32/8853/arma3.jpgI did the Camo edits in the Other Profiles folder, since my profile is in there, but it didn't work. -=Grunt=- (DayZ) 0 Posted May 23, 2012 Here's a simple guide to change your face to a camo one:1. Go to Documents (Or My Documents)2. Open the folder called "ArmA 2 Other Profiles"3. Open the folder of the profile you're using4. Open .ArmA2OAProfile (For example, -=Grunt=-.ArmA2OAProfile) with notepad5. Under "class Identity" at the top, you will see "face". Replace that with your desired camo skin. For example:class Identity{ face="face01_camo4"; glasses="None";
sherlock (DayZ) 31 Posted May 23, 2012 That's quite odd. I remember I had this back when I had a normal arma 2 and operation arrowhead on steam. Try to copy the file you use from (should be the one with ARMA2OAPROFILE) the "other profiles" to "Arma 2 profiles" and then delete the whole folder "other profiles" (back it up somewhere).Update your last post and I'll update this one with any new suggestions on how to solve this problem (just to avoid that we spam the whole forum ;)). Use something like: Edit #1,2, etc. to signify new additions.@Grunt: the first answer on this thread already covers the how, he seems to have a different problem. I realise that to make it a list might be easier for people to follow it, so I took the liberty to use your enumeration (thanks for the imput)

Change that one. Save it. Open the same file up again and see if the line actually did change. If it didn't save, the file is read-only, right click on the file, Properties, change that there so you can change it.
sephisto69 201 Posted May 23, 2012 I got it working, earlier I couldn't find class Identity in the ArmA2OAProfile, yet I could find it in the ArmA2Profile. Now somehow I managed to locate it in the ArmA2OAProfile. That's me being hasty and not looking carefully. Thanks everyone for your input, especially Sherlock. <

shwat 3 Posted May 24, 2012 I couldn't find faces for Operation Arrowhead (the Takistan local faces) on the Armaholic link, though after some trial-and-error I found out that camo variants of their faces are formatted like so:Face##_camo#_EP1The camo patterns are always the same for the same numbers (1 through 6), so I picked a camo pattern from the images on the ArmaHolic site, picked one of the OA faces in-game, and then added _camo# into it. It's easier to change your face this way as well. Pick the pattern you want, pick your face in-game, and edit the file.
