jhoff80 0 Posted July 27, 2012 I couldn't find anything about this, but I was wondering if it's at all possible to switch the device the in-game voice chat plays over. I'd love to have the game over my surround system, and still be able to have voice chat in the headset in my ear, but I couldn't find anything in the game settings to specify this. I was hoping maybe that there's some advanced settings I don't know about in some cfg file somewhere.
Hidden_Ops (DayZ) 27 Posted July 27, 2012 I think it goes off of your default audio device, so if you changed it in windows prior to starting the game that would work.
Disgraced 1123 Posted July 27, 2012 Are they both the same input type? I have a USB headset and audio jack speakers. You can't cross the streams there. When I had a headset that used audio jacks, I could do this... But not now.
jhoff80 0 Posted July 27, 2012 No, they're two different connections, HDMI out for the game, and 3.5mm analog connections for the headset. I haven't tried it, maybe I'll see if it listens to the "default communications device" setting for voice chat and "default device" for the game, not sure if that'll help.
