Jasonleeson 0 Posted July 26, 2012 (edited) Before the 1.62 patch I had 40-60 FPS with no stutter. Great performance.I now have a drop to 0 FPS, for half a second, every 1-3 seconds. This now makes the game completely unplayable. The HDD (Hard drive) sounds like it's going crazy, constantly loading. It almost sounds like it's trying to re-install the entire game in the background.Info-Steam Version of ArmA II & OA-Launch using SixLauncher (Have also tried launching from Steam, same problem)-Also tried using RAMdisk. No effect.Pc Specsi3 530 3.3GhzHD 6570 2GB8GB RAMNOW FIXED: WAS RUNNING ZONEALARM FIREWALL'S 'GAME MODE' - TURNING THIS OFF SOLVED THE PROBLEM. Jasonleeson 0 Posted July 26, 2012 I should also mention the main screen with DayZ mod running (Campaign, Multiplayer, Options ect.) has none of this stutter whatsoever. Only live, in-game, connected to a DayZ server (I have tried many, no change in problem).I should also mention that running ArmA 2 OA (Campaign/Multiplayer) has none of these problems, it happens in DayZ only.I should also mention I also play Diablo 3 and that is running fine with no change in performance.I should also mention there is no change in my overall PC's performance/responsiveness outside of any games, or in any other game I have experimented with. Jasonleeson 0 Posted July 26, 2012 Right now I'm totally de-fragging my hard drive using DiskKeeper - Will report back when it's done.
Jswah 7 Posted July 27, 2012 Ill confirm i'm having the exact SAME problem. Before 1.62 dropped I was running full FPS no problems. After updating ((Steam automaticly doing this)) I have horrid FPS spikes every 2 to 3 seconds.Today after encountering this problem I restarted my computer, went into DayZ and ran JUST FINE. Stopped playing and went back to play about 3 or so hours later I encountered the horrid FPS spike drop. Restarted my computer again and DayZ ran fine. Got curious and stopped playing, closed out arma 2 and restarted it, again horrid FPS drop.My theory is something is getting stuck in the processes that On restart is fixed, only to be restuck the first time you play DayZ after a restart. grayclay 0 Posted July 27, 2012 Could be a memory leak?

Jasonleeson 0 Posted July 27, 2012 Could be a memory leak?Hmmm..so what what cause this?
Jswah 7 Posted July 27, 2012 (edited) I've seen it happening to ALOT of people on the forums take a peak through a few of the "bad FPS" topics.Edit: Memory leaks are usually caused by bad coding, most likely within this 1.62 update that's not agreeing with Dayz Edited July 27, 2012 by Jswah

Well the only other thing I could find is some guy saying re-install Battle-eye. No effect.Kind of strage that when I get back onto the main screen mere seconds after playing with the extreme stutter, it goes back to being perfectly smooth on the main menu. Heh. darkanima270 31 Posted July 27, 2012 (edited) Try entering in a server without BattlEye activated, or make a single player game by yourself, i bet the game runs fine, let me know, because i have the exactly same problem and i noticed that this occours only when battleye is loaded by arma upon entering in a server, if we wouldn't have battleye installed in our servers/client, this game could run at the double of performance. i'm currently playing dayz with all low datails, but if i join a non BattlEye server or i make my own game, i can play it on medium at 60 fps, thats crazy, this is anti-cheat bullshit bad programming Edited July 27, 2012 by darkanima270
