punish people who disconnect

Recommended Posts

when is something going to be done about this ?

just now for instance i run all way to churno risk losing everything in firefight i shoot the guy first (sniper ) and he just disconnects. this is becoming the normal now on alot of servers oh i dont want to die disconnect

there needs to be a punishment or something to discourage people from constantly doing this

maybe lower health for a certain period of time which cant be healed or half of back pack space , lose your weapons or all your back pack .

losing your back pack which is why alot do it in first place would probably make them stay anyway then as they know even if they try to trick there way out its not worth it.

anyone else got any ideas on how to stop people disconnecting ?

Why did we need another of these threads?

Because this is so fucking annoying >:(

9 out of 10 people i encounter just disconnect.

Often it's enough to just shoot in the air if you see someone and he will instantly d/c...

And the problem is, WHY should i NOT disconnect, knowing the one attacking me is probably one of the 90% doing it -.-

Happens to a lot of people. Best thing to do is forget about it and continue on. At least if you die and don't d/c you can say you are not one of those Alt f4ggots :D

There is a thread about this in the announcements section of the forum. Kinda hard to find but if you look close enough you might dig it up.

What should be done and what would be easy to do is following:

Put a "in fight" buff for 1 minute on any player that used a weapon or got hit by anything (just like shock). If he then disconnects he dies. Corpse stays in game (this part my take some actual coding to work).

This does not solve the problem of peole who disconnect on sight. I don't even see a way this could be done technically.

Try one shot snipers. First hit and kill. Mostly they are complete dead or dc and body is away but still dead.

Me and 2 of my buddies got into a firefight with 2 other guys. It lasted over an hour and none of us DC'ed on the other. So this 90% nosense is just your personal experience and not an actual % of the population. Great job gernalizing your experience to equalling everybody elses experience.

Ofc it's my personal experience. But the fact remains, that i rarely encounter people who don't d/c on the first gunsound...

Just make a 10-20 sec logout timer like every other game with a "persistant" world has!

it's actually pretty easy to kill people before they have time to DC

also chances are if you damage them enough they're gonna bleed out while being knocked out when they reconnect

if this is about you waiting to add an extra notch on your kills then get over it and find something else to be proud of
