I have this problem too, I played around with the video settings. I had everything on Very High and I lowered it to High/Medium on some. I also adjust it in your Arma2.cfg in your My Documents folder. look for HDRPrecision=x - higher numbers will make it more "accurate" although it's sometimes hard to notice. I have mine on 32 and it seems to work OK

Edit: Do at your own risk, if it messup you dayz mod don't blame me.

Do not use the mod that MessHall posted, it will not work.

From the Mod Creator's site:

NOTE: This mod does not work with ArmA 2 v1.02 or newer, you can disable the postprocessing from video options now.

Not to mention the servers would probably auto-kick you for using a mod.

As Jonaswashe said, you can disable the post-processing effects from video options, but no luck with the HDR setting.

I can live with the white spots/mesh whatever in the plants. But this hdr thing makes the game pretty unplayable. So i wont bother:).Not the dayz teams fault but have to whine somewhere

Yeah you can't disable hdr as it's integral to any game with realistic dynamic night/day cycles.

For arma2, just turn off bloom, don't stare at the sun, and increase gamma if needed, and you'll now have perfectly stable lighting.

Well for me disabling HDR completely is not about making the game look better or worse it is about FPS and Performance. i am more than wiling to sacrifice realistic lighting for fps over 10 :P but yeah i am playing this on a 8600M GT which is odd since minimum requirements listed for arma 2 were much lower. but in general i wish developers would stop lying about minimum hardware requirements and making them seem lower than they are.
