Animals not yielding steaks ?

Killed 3 goats and a cow earlier and none of them let me loot any steaks from them after gutting ? Any thoughts ?

After you gut them wait about 1-2 mins. Also try walking away from the animal than walk up to it. Yes there is some thing wrong with the inventory system on the animals, but it will yield meat if it doesnt vanish for no reason,

Killed a cow, gutted it, and was making room in my inventory to put them steaks inside said inventory, and the cow disappeared in front of me. I was rather mad lol

It can take a little while sometimes for the meat to actually show up. And until it does, you won't have an option for gear or take raw meat. Just wait, it will show.

Yeah after gutting animals the inventory system is a little bugged.

Need to wait a little before you're able to pick up steaks.

( same as if friendly player drops loot for you takes time before you can collect it)

Make sure you're playing on a server with the same beta as you.

I had this problem when I went to an older server to play with a friend, he could pick it up but I couldn't.

Also lost my bear trap doing that.

I just gutted 2 pigs in the "Forest" area and they yielded steaks just fine. Kinda random not sure.
