Can you loot your own dead body?

My friend was killed somewhere in Elektro and he went back there and found his corpse with all his gear.. but he can't loot it. Can you loot your own dead body?

Definitely. In fact, if you die from 'natural' causes and weren't in one of the popular zones, it's likely you can sprint back and restock fully before someone else grabs your stuff.

If you have a problem looting a corpse sometimes, I've tried pressing right click to zoom in with my gun and then I was able to check the gear.

Sometimes if the body is laying on it's back (on top of the backpack) it can cause problems too... sometimes just getting the right distance and angle from the body can help. Sweep your mouse around it a lot and try moving closer/further away and circling the body, while zooming in and out. You'll find the "sweet spot" eventually.... in before THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!

Yep! Just did this actually. Was on my way to the Cherno tents for medical supplies, got shot by another player, spawned in Prigorodky, went back to my corpse and not only was everything pretty much still there, but my killer somehow thought some Lee Enfield mags were more important than the 2 morphine injectors, bloodbag, and tent he left on my body! Grabbed all my stuff and was on my way. Most successful death ever.
