davidecibel 55 Posted July 26, 2012 Since I'm on an almsot inverted day/night cycle, I decided to go on a little lonewolfing at 5 in the morning. I was close to Stary Sobor, and I've never been there before, so, since I was on a low population server, I decided to go and take a look.I went for the military tents, sneaking. Somehow a military zombie aggroed me while I was inside.Hearing the noise, I've pulled out my M1911 and pointed it at him. As soon as he steps in front of the tent, I fire twice. He RUSHES in (wtf? shouldn't they walk inside?) and attacks me. I fire once again, he hits me again. 4th round and he's finally dead. Now, apart from the ridiculous tenacity of that zombie (4 .45 rounds to the chest? at point blank range? and I'm positive I haven't missed, it was like 1m range, iron sight) with that second hit the zombie broke my leg. A standing zombie, clawing at me, broke my leg. Without even making me bleed (blood dropped from 12k to 11.3k or sth like that). Now I'm stuck there as I don't have morphine on me (ran out after falling off some bugged stairs) and my friends (they are close, we logged out together) won't be online until tomorrow evening. And if they for some reason run out of morphine, they will have to go back south or in berezino, since there are NO FUCKING MORPHINE SPAWNS UP NORTH, pick some, and come patch me up.I can understand running out of morphine in a realistic game is my fault, I should have packed 12 as any real survivor would, but really, having my leg broken by ONE standing zombie hitting me once or twice is ridiculous.yes, I'm complaining, but I'm pissed.any thoughts? Abruz 12 Posted July 26, 2012 That sounds like lag or a bad connection - that pistol is capable of one-shotting zombies in the body.I understand your frustration too, at one point me and two friends had our legs broken all at the same time with a heavy lack of morphine. I'd say having serious injuries like broken bones would be feasible if you were being attacked by several zombies at once and were below a certain blood level or already passed out but when it happens to me it just seems to be a random and unlucky swing from a passing zombie that causes me to drop to the floor and break my legs which is silly and rather annoying. icomrade 201 Posted July 26, 2012 The fact that you get hit by a zombie, probably open fist, and it breaks your bones. It's usually not even possible to break someone leg by hitting them with your hand.
schwifty 22 Posted July 26, 2012 (edited) Morphine does spawn up north and in those military tents too, and the barracks, and almost every military building. If everything is spawned in there and its all junk, pick it up, move it and wait 5 minutes. Also the animations are limiting to what they can do. Just imagine what the zombie would be doing right up to you. Grabbing, clawing, smashing. Sometimes things require a little imagination, it is a video game after all. libertine 351 Posted July 26, 2012 Might be better tho if it took 5 bandages to heal a fracture instead. I welcome the added tension and apprehension of dealing with zombies, but i wish it came in another form.

I'm almost tempted to find an almost empty server, crawl back there, snipe the zombies with my mp5, crawl inside and try to find some morphine ;__;

davidecibel 55 Posted July 26, 2012 you didn't wish me luck, I logged into a server with 4 ppl other than me online, and as soon as the game loads... I hear gunshots. Better log off xD

Better log off xDLOL, yeah - that can happen. I've been shot and killed on 2-3 player servers in Stary Sobor before and been safe in 50 player servers.Good luck! davidecibel 55 Posted July 26, 2012 (edited) second server with 5 people, exactly the same scenario, log in and hear gunshots (different weapon this time, the one before was definitely an AK). bad luck this morning :Dactually I'm starting to think that I'm, in fact, lucky as I hear gunshots BEFORE i start crawling with a broken leg in the open. G33z3r 13 Posted July 26, 2012 yeah, if you just updated with the new arma patch, then 4 shots with the 1911 to kill a zed. 3 shots with the revolver. it's new, and a lot of ppl are wondering wtf.i don't even go near the tents. best of luck though.

Same thing happened to me last night. Filled a zed full of lead (3-4 shots from a M1911) and he was still standing. Ended up breaking my leg too before the 4th or 5th shot finally killed him.I wish they would post fucking change-logs for their patches instead of us finding out like this. davidecibel 55 Posted July 26, 2012 LOL! 4 shots? that sucks, considering that a mag holds 7 bullets... you either need to headshot or you can't kill 2 zed without reloading! BTW, I did get lucky. Like lottery lucky. No bandits. Found morphine, killed a zombie with FIVE mp5 (now i understand the 5 in the number) without drawing aggro, also got a GPS (useless but cartman-cool) and an AK Kobra with a BOATLOAD of ammo. Bacon Surfboard 61 Posted July 26, 2012 Pro tip - hit detection with pistol iron sights whilst a Zed is eating your face is sketchy at best and useless at worst.Hit detection doesn't really work when they're that close, recommend hip firing or backing up a bit - and if you want to let your imagination run wild for sakes of immersion, you wouldn't be aiming down sights when the thing is actually trying to eat your face and on you.
