Nick The Fifth 1 Posted July 26, 2012 Hey, this is my first post on the forums but I would just like to post a story that may or may not give some people faith in the community when it comes to kindness in DayZ.Today I spawned in Elektro and decided to hit my normal supply route. I decided to go to the market because generally (at least in my experiences) it has the most usefull items. On the way there I saw a man on the roof of the hospital and I heard gunshots. Immediately I became a bit paranoid. That didn't stop me from making my way to the store though. When I finally got into the store I searched around and ended up with an M1911, a Revolver, an ALICE backpack and some ammo. I figured it was good enough for the time being. So I turned around to make my way out of the store when I saw a man behind the counter aiming a gun at me. I went into panic mode and immediately hit the deck and started crawling my way to the counter. I called out friendly to him but I got no response... After a few moments I stood up and the man took a shot at me and luckily missed. I, however, didn't. I unloaded three shots from my M1911 at the man's head (overkill maybe?) and immediately high-tailed it out of the store, heading to the building across from there. Upon entering I searched the rooms like normal only to find nothing... So I went to the second floor. I saw a man with a crowbar run past me and... still being paranoid from my last encounter... started shooting. I'm happy to say that every single shot missed due to me being in a panic. After that encounter I believe he went up to the roof... me feeling guilty started to talk to him. He said he was friendly so I left him a revolver on the second floor. He told me to go to the market and once he saw me there, he would take the revolver and meet me. So me, wanting to make friends rather than enemies, made my way to the store as instructed. The man came to the store and we talked for a bit, sorted out some things and helped another man that approached us.And for the next hour or so we scavenged the rest of Elektro, hospital, fire stations and all that. I ended up with a boat-load of medical supplies and an AKM. I'm sorry I didn't get your name man but if you're reading this I would like to thank you for not blowing my brains out when I gave you that gun. I had a blast and I hope to see more people like that. :DP.S. I know I'm not the best story teller but I hope that gets the point across that not everybody in the game is out to kill you. Some jackass I met asked for blood in Elektro, I was in a building with a couple of floors, I went to the top and found some guns, he came out and said don't shoot, and he asked for blood, and I told him to turn around so I could transfuse blood, and he turned around and beat me with a hatchet.
