Wha'ts PPAA in the video settings?

Hi, new player here, love this mod.

Just wondering what PPAA is in the advanced section, never seen it before.

And how do I communicate with somebody? I see some survivors and I hit / for group channel, but when I type something they never respond.

To communicate use direct chat... (cycle through channels with . or ,) most servers have side chat turned off and group doesnt do anything in DayZ. You can use ingame voip or text with direct but its only short range (sound of voice).

My favorite communication method is talking to people through the barrel of my riffle. Usually works out better in the end.

Hit the , or . (< >) keys to select direct chat. Sometimes text works, sometimes not. A mic is highly recommended, and other players' voices will be heard through your speakers/headset up to 50m away

PPAA is Post Process Anti-Aliasing.

And to communicate with other survivors near you use the 'Direct communication' option.

I believe PPAA stands for Post Processing Anti Aliasing, and you will take a pretty big framerate hit if your system is not up to snuff (CPU usage). Its effects are debatable and some don't like it. I could be wrong on this though.

That's good to know about the Direct Communications, now hopefully people don't just shoot me right a way.

There's already a Post processing option, have it set on very high, so PPAA is confusing for me.

How do I bring up the quick menu on the left to bandage myself?

I've seen it on tutorial videos, but I can't seem to bring it up.

Press G to bring up the gear menu, right click on a bandage (they are in the same slots as pistol ammo) select the 'bandage self' option.
