Chiron 23 Posted July 26, 2012 Anyone printed off a big map of Chernasus for off monitor referencing? I found some food ones, but nothing over about 2200px x 2200px. Not sure how large I'd be able to print that off without it being unreadable. I basically want something nice nad big, maybe A2 or A1, to lay out on a white board and mark my own locations with magnets etc. Just for the hell of it - fully aware that the google-esque, scalable maps online are much more useful.Thoughts or suggestions on images to use? Or any thoughts on easy ways to put together the lovely definition google-esque map?

jdz (DayZ) 238 Posted July 26, 2012 Hey guys, I've decided to print this map off as well but instead I am doing it on A4 and I will stick them together but I am coming across a problem.I go to print the map but it only prints the top left corner of the map, about 1/5th of it.Any ideas how to get around this? Just check the print settings and see what you have on hand to change.

SystemiK 366 Posted July 26, 2012 Here is a thread I started, check it for a link to a map that is 17454 x 14626 (thats about 20 feet tall if printed at full size). I printed mine to around 5' x 4'-6" and it is stunning. I spent many days searching for a higher resolution map but could not find anything at all. One more thing, if you do print a map, I recommend having it laminated. This would allow you to use wet erase markers for map notes etc. It seems permanent until you wipe with a damp cloth and the ink just disappears.Links to the map are in this thread:http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/30786-17454-x-14626-high-res-map-for-printing/

Please, have all my beans! Thanks so much, that's exactly what I'm after. I'll print it out at the largest size I can afford/manage, and getting it laminated afterwards was definitely on the cards. Excellent stuff.

Just curious, how big is the map they sent you and is it laminated?
Womb Raider 92 Posted July 26, 2012 I just bring up one on a web browser and alt tab if I don't have a map in game. Doing this is probably going to get me killed, but we'll see.

Just curious, how big is the map they sent you and is it laminated?Roughly 58cm high x 85cm across, couldn't find a tape measure so I grabbed a dodgy ruler, my desk is built into an alcove-sort've thing so it fits perfect on the bit of wall to my right when I'm playing DayZ. And when you say laminated I think of the stiff plastic laminations(?) but obviously this had to be folded, it's on the thick/shiny paper though, like a real map or a poster.
