Areos (DayZ)

Beta Build 95310 Won't Install.

Recommended Posts

I've tried updating ARMA II to the latest beta build recently released, 95310, but with limited success. I've downloaded the zip off of the main website and followed the install process. After a near-instantaneous installation, I'm given a error stating that the files may not have installed properly. Opening ARMA II afterwards confirms this--the game is still using beta build 95248.

Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

I'm guessing you're running steam version but I'll outline the method I've used without fail.

Run the patch. The window it opens will say patched successfully.

After you exit it, WINDOWS will always pop asking 'did this install correctly' just hit 'this installed correctly' and ignore it.

Go to your steamapps\Arma2 OA\Expansion\beta

If you just want to play without steam run the ArmA2OA.exe file from this directory.

If you want to launch via steam then read on:

Copy Arma2oa.exe from that beta directory to your

steamapps\Arma2 OA\

directory.

(if not steam version you can just launch with that beta exe no need to copy)

To launch via steam right click on Arma2: OA in your library. --> Properties --> Set launch options

and use:

-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion;CA;@DayZ

Right click Arma2: OA --> Launch Combined Ops (to play)

Repeat the above steps for each patch (no need to reset launch options that part is permanent).

The above is for ARMA2 beta patches.

Fo DayZ patches, just copy/paste the files and overwrite within

steamapps\Arma2 OA\Expansion\@dayz

The above steps work just as well with the non-steam version as well it'll just be different directories.

The above worked just fine after the latest steam downloading as well (I applied the latest beta patch *after* steam did its thing).

I've done the method to launch Arma2: OA via Steam, and I was able to open it in version 95310, but then I'm hit with the "you cannot play/edit this mission, it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted" error when I try to enter a server. I'm guessing this launch isn't detecting my @dayz folder somehow.

When I try to launch the beta through the expansion/beta folder, I first receive a "No entry '.profilePathDefault'." error and then a "bin\config.bin/CfgWeapons/G36_C_SD_eotech/Burst: Cannot find base class 'Burst'" error, which closes the game. Meh.

Will the latter option still allow me to open the beta build 95310 through Six Launcher, or am I no longer able to use the Six Launcher because of this?

I'm having the same problem. Tried 5 different installs of the beta patch and shutting down everything i didnt need such as steam, firewalls, and even performing windows updates along with 3 restarts.

Ok i found a small workaround:

Open Six launcher and press "Verify". When it's done and says launch, run the ARMA2_OA_Build_95310.exe and try joining a server.

:) i hope it works for you guys too!

Actually... I got to know about DayZ Commander.. It's better than Six Updater!

Server list is more detailed, and you can also add your friends to your friends list and join them :)

Plus.. the updated beta patch stays in ehehe :)

That did work for me too.... thanks!

But, y u no 95389?

I didn't knew about 95389.. only after i got DayZ Commander i noticed it updated to that version ;)
